What things absolutely freak you out, you have no control over, and also realize you have no control over, and yet you're fixated on them?

I'm terrified of entropy.  The heat death of the universe in 100 trillion years keeps me up at night.

driving certain routes on the highway.

or really big things. the lion turtle from avatar freaked me out. and the giant torterra from detective pikachu. so maybe i'm just afraid of giant turtles.

i find entropy very comforting lol

I don't think the highway thing is irrational, unless it's like a super safe stretch of road.  There are a couple highways in Atlanta that I get tense just thinking about.

Giant turtles sound cute.

I don't even care if humanity can't survive, but I hate to think that the potential for life is over.

Eggs. But I'm in no way fixated on them.

I don't want to touch them. I don't want to smell them.

I don't want to see them.

And I'd eat a roach before I'd eat an egg.

Eggs.

can you handle them as an ingredient?

my grandfather had a thing about butter and he had to go in the other room if my grandmother put butter in something or butter popcorn for him

I can when they go in a cake. Other than that, I cannot.

Like, I won't eat quiche, frittatas, French toast, etc.

the vines that infect me entire yard give me anxiety

don't forget ur fear of pooping when a ghost is watching you xD

For me it would be bees I guess. Like I guess that's a common enough fear but I don't think I'm even allergic or anything. I will still freak the fuck out if I even see a single bee even if it's a harmless one like a bumblebee. I remember a couple years ago we were at my parent's for some holiday and they had a bee's nest or something in one of the vents so when you used the downstairs bathroom you could hear buzzing in the vent. I almost had a heart attack every time I used the bathroom.

Whoa, he would eat it but he couldn't look at it?

As long as it wasn't in butter form. He could never know how much butter went into the potatoes.

That's FANTASTIC.  Butter is so good.  No butter in butter form.  Your grandfather was awesome.

I am kind of the same way, except I don't need to go through the theatrics of hiding the butter

My grandfather will eat a stick of butter by itself. But he's a fucking hog.

I'm with you on bridges.  Fuck them.  We were never meant to pass over gorges or rivers.

I live in Georgia. Specifically the Savannah area. There's a huge bridge (in my opinion) crossing over into South Carolina. It's high as fuck because of ships coming into the ports. I went across it, but disco drove and I laid down in the fucking floor board.

Also that goddamn monstrosity in Charleston, SC is the work of the devil.

heights. like i'm ok in an airplane or on a medium sized rollercoaster but anything super high like Kingda Ka for example I'd never be able to do

I don't think heights are irrational.  They can literally kill you.  What the hell is Kingda Ka?

I've driven on that bridge!  I was driving to Hilton Head for our honeymoon and the GPS took us a crazy way instead of onto 95.  It was terrifying and my wife made fun of me.

Those little bridges going onto Hilton Head are about as high as I want to get. I had to drive there every night for work, and I avoided going over the Talmadge Bridge in Savannah. I took 95 instead. A bit longer, but totally worth not facing my fears. I also had to go over that son of a bitch in Charleston for the same job. I was the asshole holding up traffic on it. I was going about 35 while those assholes were going 80. Except the ones that were behind me, pissed off. I gave zero shits.

Awful!  My hands are literally sweating thinking about having to do that every day.  I loooooooooove Savannah though, I can't wait until this pandemic is over to visit it again.

Hell yeah. When you make it down, let me know. Disco and I know all the good local spots, and all the shit that's not on the tourist radar. Of course, the tourist spots as well. Like movie filming locations, haunted spots, etc.

As a writer, even while writing a new idea, I'm constantly plagued by the fear that what I've written--or am writing--is the last idea I'll ever have. It's this idea that I'll lose the ability to be creative.
