Recommend YouTube Channels

I watch a lot of YouTube in my down time, but I'd like to see Recommendations you all might have for channels. This isn't for me, specifically, but just a general recommendation thread for channels people might find interesting. I'll link a few and include a channel synopsis for anyone that might want to check these various channels out.

These guys have been around for awhile, and have multiple channels, (notably Corridor). This is an off-shoot channel that I actually like better than the main one. It has a lot of interesting videos regarding film making, special effects, and stunt work. Some of my favorite shows they do are:

VFX Artists React (To Good and Bad CGI): Various members of Corridor, and often other VFX artists that work in the industry give input on good and bad effects and usually break down how things were done, be it correctly or incorrectly.

R-Rated and Fixing Bad CGI: Occasionally, the team will edit in some new effects to more family friendly movies to make them more violent (i.e. Home Alone, Star Wars, Avengers) or they will outright try to fix bad CGI, like the Scorpion King in the Mummy Returns.

Stunmen React: Same as VFX Artists React, but with Hollywood stuntmen breaking down good and bad stunts.

Chris Broad (from England but living in Japan) and his often eccentric friends travel Japan, showcasing culture, cuisine, and everything in between. There are tons of vloggers in Japan, but most of them have pretty bad pacing and editing which result in 30+ minute videos of someone shuffling around a mall or down a street, showing fuckall. Abroad in Japan has great pacing and editing compared to its contemporaries, which is why it's my go-to channel for these sort of vlog/POV shows of people living or traveling in Japan. He will on occasion do a little series or set of shows, but for the most part he just publishes new videos without much rhyme or reason. However, his Journey Across Japan show is a good place to start, otherwise I'd say just dive into his popular videos.

Chris is often joined by a friend during the videos, but two common guests are his friends Natsuki and Ryotoro, both interesting people in their own respective rights, but always entertaining to watch. So if you wanna see a well-edited, properly paced, vlog of Japan in English, I highly recommend this one.

Boasting a massive collection of nearly 1,800 martial arts movies, all free to watch, this channel showcases some of the best (and worst) kung-fu movies ever made. They upload constantly and there's no end to choices here.I don't have much else to say, so here's an excerpt from their channel description:

The WU stands for Warriors Unite

The Tang is the flavor

The Collection is the connection...

From the mountains of China, to the streets of New York, The Wu Tang Collection brings the best, rarest, and finest in Asian Action Cinema, Martial Arts and beyond.

Ann Reardon generally does baking or baking-related videos and comes up with some pretty crazy and creative stuff. Definitely a good channel to check out if you are interested in baking or sculpting/making art with food. She also has a little series she does exposing some of those gif recipes or recipe channels, and I adore her for that. I've been saying for a long time that a lot of those gif recipes are either bad, misleading or outright dangerous. But Ann actually does the recipe along with the gif or channel and shows how it would actually turn out. Alternatively, she often includes how they likely faked their recipes and will sometimes provide a legitimate replacement or link to one.

Aside from standard video game or music channels I wouldn't recommend for everyone, I have a soft spot for traveling food Youtubers.

Strictly Dumplings is a dude that tours around places to visit a place or a restaurant and tries out a ton of the food there. His thumbnails aren't the best, but it's fun to see what kind of foods he's able to come across in his travels.

Mark Wiens is another great Youtuber with a similar format. The main difference though is that this dude has the most wholesome smile every time he bites into food.

Death Battle....I don't agree with most of their outcomes, but it's still interesting to see how the validate them.

SHC MMA.....One of the few I actually "watch" instead of use for background noise

Various weed channels....Because weed.  Don't have on in particular and a bunch of let's plays.

Whang! - Metal guitarist from NYC who talks about strange and unusual people and events that occurred in the less savory corners of the internet. Also has a righteous mustache.

Internet Comment Etiquette with Erik - He teaches you how to make "proper" internet comments while taking the piss out of his topics. This guy was also responsible for the infamous "Driving on Salvia" and "Gardening on Salvia" videos way back when.

Jeb Gardener - He gardens. He does it with dramatic classical music. His experiments may be ill-advised.

On the car front:

Cleetus mcFarland: I have followed his naked Corvette since the beginning and watched it set the first stickshift GM car in the 7-second quarter mile. He is quite humble, goofy, and has a lot of cool builds

Deboss Garage: Humble and very very knowledgeable diesel guy who works on all sorts of projects.

Grind Hard Plumbing Company: If you've seen the really fast Barbie Mustang... they have built so much more since then.

Aging Wheels: He owns a Trabant! And a couple other shitty quirky cars! He's mainly into communist shitboxes and electric vehicles that are a large step down from a Tesla.

Rich Rebuilds: A learn-as-he-goes dude who buys salvaged Teslas and rebuilds them - though he has taken on other projects as of late.

RegularCars aka Regular Car Reviews: it's that. He reviews anything and everything. From Grandma's '93 Cutlass to the Suzuki Cappuccino, and does so with decent knowledge mixed in with some fucked up dark humor.

24hoursoflemons: The guys who run the 24 Hours of LeMons race series do recaps of each race, and said race is basically cosplaying while racing a shitbox car all weekend with a drunken potluck in the middle of it all. It's a bucket list thing of mine.

On the not car front:

The Proper People: Urbexing done right, mainly old factories, asylums, hospitals, and amusement parks. Lately they've been traveling.

Explore With Us: Most of their Urbexes have been ghost towns and such in the Nevada area, but lately they have been doing a lot of missing persons cases, which I fine just as interesting.

Sal: Dead/dying malls and the history of them. he is actually a little daring too, when he does his walk-throughs he sneaks into the blocked off parts.

LGR: Most of what I watch of his are videos about old computers and other gadgets from way back when.

Hydraulic Press Channel/Beyond The Press: Experimental things with a hydraulic press and other various pieces of equipment... spoiler alert: decks of cards literally explode when crushed. He's also from Finland, so that accent is hilarious.

Jeff Favignano: Does a lot of play-through with new games, mostly oddball simulators.

I have a lot more but eh, I just kinda picked a few that stood out.

I'll just list a few that I like to watch.

Shesez: Boundary break is great for learning about tricks game developers like to use by letting you see things you wouldn't normally be able to see while playing games.

Binging with Babish: Started watching it because of the crazy food he made from television series, movies and games.  He has expanded with legitimate cooking material.

LGR: I haven't been watching this as much lately but dude is super informative about old and weird tech.  He also loves wood grain.

LockingPickingLawyer: Super good at picking/bypassing locks.  Lock companies hate him!  Great for learning about what's inside locks and their features.

Teamfourstar: I'm sure you've heard of this but in case you haven't, they have a great DBZ abridge series that have also done Hellsing and Yu-Gi-Oh.

Captain Disillusion: He debunks viral videos that really shouldn't need debunking but people are stupid.  He teaches editing tricks and is a great entertainer.
He's trying to expand a bit because he doesn't want to be repetitive.

RedLetterMedia:  Basically the only channel I watch for movie reviews.  It's fun watching Mike and Jay goof around.

I also watch Tech channels like Tek Syndicate, Linus, Gamers Nexus and Level1Techs.
