Are you very stressed?

Do you sleep poorly?

Do you use a lot of stimulants, even caffeine or nicotine?

Do you have anxiety?

**looks at that list and realizes I could say yes to all of those things**

oh god

Stressed kinda but I don't feel like it's more than anyone else

Sleep is good

2-3 cups of coffee a day is all

Never been formally diagnosed with anxiety but have basically diagnosed myself with it

In that case your problem most likely lays in a spike due to your diet or drug intake...

etc sugar, caffiene, nicotene,  or if you like energy drinks..ESPECIALLY MONSTER and you somehow

believe overdosing on the latter is better than the former cut the shit out. I've been with several chicks with an energy  drink problem and that shit pisses me off.. might as well be snorting cocaine 24/7..

Couple of things since you've already had a check-up and things are otherwise ok.

You mentioned acid reflux so if it was a sustained pain that didn't appear to affect your actual heart beat, heartburn is likely. It can sometimes be a real beast, especially if it just sneaks up on you for no good reason.

If the sudden pain was extra sharp making it hard to breath but otherwise not affecting the heart beat, pulled muscle string. Harder to deal with - you kind of end up having to forcibly relax as much as possible so whatever is pinching up stops it. Heat patches help too.
