Keeping up the motivation to work out

Ive hit my 2 month mark and i can totally feel myself losing steam. It honestly doesnt help that the gym near me is such a shit hole that i could write an entire rant on it from the lack of sanitation stations to overt sexual harassment. Its easy for me to stay focused when its a session with a trainer but thats because i kind of have to keep going. But only 1 out of my 4 work outs a week are with a trainer. Any tips for keeping myself motivated? Calling myself a fat bitch in my head and replaying times ive hated how i look in my head while im working out has only been semi helpful

one thing that worked for m was to do something everyday for at least 30-60  minutes.

it didnt matter what it was or how hard you went, you just had to show up everyday. after a certain time it becomes routine and youll just go every day out of habit. but you will still hate it. thats the best i got for you.

also might wanna go somewhere else. that sexual harrasment has to be such a big de-motivator.

fucking a fucking a I better do something.. I turned this canadian ... dude onto an american hiphop club producers shit earlier since he was vibing off 'my rap; or whatever and we are supposed to be doing other shit so..

hold on man I'm gonna have to check this shit. I guess I'm probably going to start getting my work out at work anyway..

so maybe it's all right if I don't do an intensive workout today I don't even know and I'm kind of nervous so..

sipping this beer it is..

I'd find a better gym, since this one seems to be impacting you in a negative manner. Even a Planet Fitness would be fine. It is also distressing that you call yourself a fat b**ch, because you are anything but. I would suggest finding a place that emphasizes the positive, and adjust your thinking to that frame. You are not working out to get skinny, you are working out to stay healthy, in body and mind.

Are you really out of shape? Not as in asking if this is true, but if I could call you a fat fuck if I decided to do so. If you're really out of shape you'll need to get in shape before it starts feeling good. That's one thing to keep in mind, there is a point your body gets to where you look forward to a workout and when it's over you feel great.

You have to figure out what part of working out turns you off and find a new way to try it

I personally hate running so I ride a bike these days to get my cardio in.  Another good way (also a way of self defense) would be to take up kick boxing or any other martial art

Hm. Having a friend work out with you is always helpful. That, or just make a schedule and force yourself to stick to it. Self-discipline. Build up on caffeine or whatever stimulant you like, and just go for it.

Ill pass on the caffeine. I've had to run from authorities while very high on coke. Not a feeling i wanna repeat xD

you need to have people with you. i've been doing it for about a year because i've had people with me. if i didn't i would have given up months ago

Yeah, finding people to work out with has been really hard. I'll be flying solo until i meet some new friends unfortunately

Treat yourself to something special after every completed week of working out.

Positive reinforcement.

Thats a really good idea. I have all these bath bombs laying around and i never take baths. Maybe this will be a good excuse to start using them. A blunt and a bath. Hell yeah.

Yeah, I see what you mean. There are no other gyms in the neighborhood so thats kind of why i settled on this one. Taking the train to the gym given where i live and how late im at the gym is probably not a great idea. I should look into one near my job. It definitely is to get healthy, but i grew up being shamed constantly for how i look so i think its just the most readily available motivation material that i have. xD

take up a martial art

this forces you to work out for like 3 hours a week at least

That is actually the goal. There is  a really good BJJ school offering me some classes on the cheap when one of the instructors comes back from wherever

Im actually not that out of shape. Im aware that my perception of myself is a bit skewed, but i do smoke. I usually feel pretty good after the workout. Its just making myself go despite exhaustion from work and school

Running is the only part i like looool. The area for resistance training is always so crowded and i hate being stared at. There are a lot of guys there who should honestly be kicked out because they just arent capable of leaving women alone when they are working out. But the gym staff can be extremely inattentive and ive seen actual fights break out over things that should have never happened in the first place. The treadmill area is usually full of little old spanish ladies so i hang around there and just run.

I'm convinced there are ghosts of bros past that haunt gyms and do shit like that.  I use to work 2nd shift and got out at 10:30 and would head to the 24 hour gym and there'd be me and one other person there until I got on any sort of weight bench or machine, then suddenly 3-4 people would appear out of nowhere and ask how long I'd be on it.  This was a large gym, it's not like there weren't like 900 other things they could do.

Ah. I have an overabundance of energy, so I can't help you there. My not working out is now just due to me not caring about staying alive. However long I live from now on is fine.

Don't count on motivation.  Keep doing it even if you don't feel like it.
Use your willpower.
