I can see both arguments here but I imagine what most peoples thoughts are a trained professional is probably a lot better to help with this matter. Like if you came up to me and were like "yo I scratched my hand" I'd be fully capable of delivering first aid by cleaning said scratch and applying a band aid no problem. If you came up to me like "yo I got mauled by a bear" I'd do what I could but definitely tell you get real medical attention.
