Yeah, but it's not inherently political. It started out not having much do with politics. And I'm willing to bet it was Matt and Trey's decision to center a lot of the eps around politics, rather than the network. Though to be fair, that was pretty much true with The Daily Show too (though I have no idea whose idea it was to be so political).
