SwimOdin Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Have y'all ever been to this abomination of capitalism? Like Idiocracy? If not, it's a massive gas station that's almost the size of a small Wal-Mart, with literally 100 gas pumps, and a huge bespoke shopping area, and any food you could want as far as BBQ. It's a nightmare. There's one north of Atlanta that my wife and I stop in when we're going to Tennessee, and if you hit it at the right time, it's only VERY anxiety inducing with all the people. If you hit it at the wrong time, like we did in South Carolina, on July 4th...I still shudder. It was like standing at a rollercoaster line that is in all direction with people coming at you in all directions. You're in line for your existence. The sandwiches are nice. 4 Quote
The_annoying_one Posted May 7 Posted May 7 I’ve passed by Bucee’s quite a few times on my random travels, but never once dared to go inside. Even from the outside, the whole place just screams “introvert’s worst nightmare”. 1 2 Quote

It's unfortunately been canonized into tradition, since we often go to the mountains for our anniversary and this is part of the trip... 2 Quote
Top Gun Posted May 7 Posted May 7 The one time I had to drive up most of 95 (ugh) I saw like a dozen signs for one location but I did not partake. 1 Quote
André Toulon Posted May 7 Posted May 7 (edited) ......Fkn love Bucees. Its like the long trip hub for shit you dont need but buy anyway because how often will you get this opportunity. Everything from clothes to fkn tablets...but that's not what you go in for...noooo...its the brisket sammich, strawberry lemonade and those awful corn nut things that someone in the car always buys and wants to share.... I've had them before, they suck...stop asking do I want some. I have a shirt...i saw it when i did laundry today. Now I shall wear it when I drop my son off in the morning, because the beaver has spoken.... I think its a beaver. Edited May 7 by André Toulon 3 Quote
Insipid Posted May 7 Posted May 7 I've always wanted to go to one, but there are none close to me and I rarely go to the South. They seem to be like obnoxiously huge American konbinis. 1 Quote
1pooh4u Posted May 8 Posted May 8 I don’t think we have that out here. We don’t even have a WaWa although they’re just over the bridge in NJ. NYS never gets the good stuff 😩 1 1 Quote

Wawa has pretty good sammiches but I haven’t been for a while gas station bbq sounds really good though. Probably not as good as gas station sushi 2 Quote

lupin_bebop Posted May 9 Posted May 9 (edited) No. I’ve never been to the 24/7 brisket, low-priced gas, always-clean bathroom, 100+ pump Mecca that is Bucc-ee’s. Ever. Of course I have. I LOVE Bucc-ee’s. Edited May 9 by lupin_bebop Quote

scoobdog Posted May 11 Posted May 11 I thought Buc-ee's were truck stops. We don't have them out here AFAIK. I did see the one in Goodyear, but I didn't need gas at the time so I didn't stop. 1 Quote

Chappi Posted May 11 Posted May 11 I’ve been there twice during a trip. I wasn’t prepared for how massive their restrooms are. I also got a BBQ sandwich with smoked turkey which was a bit dry but still really good. Quote
UwPp Posted May 12 Posted May 12 I went to buccees on my way home from FL. Boy is it a redneck cracker barrel. 1 3 Quote

UwPp Posted May 12 Posted May 12 (edited) It's pretty annoying to hear the meat department shout every 2 seconds they're cutting a slab of meat and do some weird chant. Like what voodoo you doing on my food? Only impressive thing was their bathrooms. They have lights on the top of the doors to say if they're vacant or not also a toilet seat cleaner and hand sany in the stall with you. Edited May 12 by UwPp 3 Quote

They don’t allow trucks (18-wheelers) at them. It’s pretty awesome. Quote
