He was an influencer so they were like "remember when he said black people were predisposed to violence and lacked intelligence" and something about a dolphin fetus....there was more but i only have so much attention span.

The right is claiming they’re at war with the left without knowing who the shooter even is 

remember earlier this year when in Minnesota a MAGA nut shot and killed an elected official?  Remember when the right stormed the Capitol?  These fuckin clowns

It was two human murders, one dog murder and two majorly wounded.

Remember when that happened and the Orange Lardass couldn't even be bothered to call the governor of MN to offer condolences? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

It's pretty rich for the same people who are always bragging about having all the guns to start blaming everyone but themselves for gun violence. 

Also my hot take on this was wasn't Charlie Kirk the same dumbass who told Taylor Swift that she'd better learn to submit to her husband now because she wasn't in control anymore? He was shot by a Swiftie.

He’s said too much vile shit to list.  It’s why a professional hit is admittedly odd but I figured someone would be so antagonized by him repeatedly telling them they have no rights that they would react with violence.

A Swiftie would still be funny.

But yes, his entire career was built on being a big braying jackass bent on intentionally antagonizing people while basing his supposed superiority in all things on being a white dude. He shit on more than enough people that just rationally deciding on one group with enough vinegar to go for it isn't happening in my brain right now. 

Personally, when I turned on the news and saw all this my first thought was 'good'. It wasn't in a celebratory manner, it was just a blunt thought. Some dude who thinks he's the lovechild of Napoleon and Jesus Christ can walk into a gun show and get himself some holy cleansers for a kindergarten picnic outing and Kirk would think that was great because gun rights are sacred. Ironically, that's probably a good impression of his last words before he was forced to eat them.

Trump is surprisingly quiet at the moment. Either he's got news about the situation that isn't convenient for him or he is planning something really terrible. 

I would say the right got their martyr and we'll see if this situation falls victim to the collective short memory people developed or we keep heading down a road similar to the Troubles in Northern Ireland.

He made a big deal of it, even demanded flags at half mast, which is dumb for the sole reason Kirk may have been a GOP kingmaker, but he wasn’t officially a government official, which is normally the only justification of such (current or former).

Yeah, I saw he made a speech in the oval office right now. All I heard about before that was some post on an internet site. I quit social media so I'm not barraged by shit all day.

Weird timing. Russia tests its boundaries by sending drones into Poland. On the same day a possible sniper kills one of the biggest right wing influencers in the country, causing the president to swivel back hard to internal enemies.

Forums via lap or desktop, for sure. The advent of smartphones combined with big social media just killed the joy to be found on the internet. I don't know if it was the influx of people who were apparently to lazy or too dumb to learn to navigate any sort of OS, the sudden uniformity of almost everything or governments (particularly authoritarian ones) learning social media could work for them. What ever it is, the internet is not really a haven or fun any more.

Which is why im convinced they have the shooter, but the reality of who it is isnt damning enough for the right to politicize it in their favor. Its gonna take a while to solidify this scapegoat and tie them to this murder.

Kinda had similar thoughts as "suspect released" kept getting posted.

I don't entirely doubt it.... but also if any of them were capable of thinking quickly, someone may have recognized the danger of creating a martyr..

Which just feels full-circle ironic that this becomes the moment where they stop to consider "hey maybe let's not make the shooter famous this time."
