We buy games. And sometimes, we buy them again. And sometimes we do that five times. Tell me some games you’ve bought more than once, for whatever reason. You can even say how many times to really embarrass yourself.

Street Fighter 4: Seven copies across all versions

Final Fantasy 4: Five copies

Final Fantasy Tactics: Three copies, about to be four

Final Fantasy 7: Four copies

Final Fantasy 6: Three copies

Chrono Trigger: Three copies

I could go on forever with the games I have two copies of, so I’ll cut it off there.

The standard GTA San Andreas copy I got from launch for PlayStation 2, the Greatest Hits version I got some time later for the same console.... and the original Xbox copy of San Andreas.

The reason I got the latter was thinking Xbox One backwards compatibility would let me play it as original, but no... forces you to play 2014 remaster with the 2004 disc in.

Borderlands 3 (disc on PS3, digital on PS5)

Dark Souls 1 (disc on PS3, digital on the Switch)

Red Dead Redemption 2 (disc on PS4, digital on PS5)

Nioh 1 and 2 (discs on both PS4 and PS5)

That’s all I can come up with without physically checking.

Somehow left out the 3 in Borderlands.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

  • my older sister had the N64 cartridge
  • I had the GCN Master Quest disc that was a reward for pre-ordering Wind Waker
  • my dad got me a used copy of the limited edition Zelda collection on GCN (Zelda 1, Zelda 2, OOT, MM)
  • I got the 3DS remake
  • I just beat the game on the Switch virtual console

A black label version of FF8, the greatest hits version, the PS1 classic version to play it on the go and Remastered on PS4. And I might own the PC version too. And I have 3 versions of FF7 Remake and still intend to get a physical copy at some point.

No A Link to the Past?

Wasn't on the compilation disk. ALttP was remade on the GBA with the Four Swords multiplayer add-on around the same time which is probably why.

I never owned it though, closest was (aside from the switch online subscription) when Club Nintendo shut down and the let everyone liquidate their points for Wii virtual shop games. I used points to get it for my sister and I played through it there.

4 versions of Final Fantasy IV is the most I own

I can't think of any 3s, but have a bunch of 2s.

What are your IV’s?

Mine are SNES, PSX, GBA, DS and PSP. Hoping the pixel remaster has a deep discount on the Steam Summer sale, might as well make it 6.

NiGHTS into dreams 3 versions, Saturn, HD and bought Japanese PS2 copy just because it came with the storybook

Shadow of the Colossus, original version and HD

Still plan to get the Marvel vs Capcom collection at some point which would double most of those games

Maybe others but that requires too much brain atm

Duke Nukem 3D.  I got the Sega Saturn version way back when I was a kid (yeah, because Duke was edgy and cool) and got it later way down the line for my Xbox 360.

Also got multiple copies of Street Fighter II and III because they were on various collections I got, including my SNES Classic that’s in the guest room of my parents condo, and Marvel vs Capcom on both Dreamcast and a collection for my Switch.
