I am not sure if Cuomo is running as a democrat. Been hearing he’s running on an independent platform idrk I was only half listening

this is definitely because he wasn’t winning a primary. I wasn’t gonna have him nor Adams in my top 5.  Idk if this helps Cuomo or not but I don’t see him being a good mayor

He's running in the Dem primary and on an independent line. Adams isn't even bothering with the primary, just running on his own made up line.

It’s just a 12ft statue of no one in particular but it’s really pissing people off. Mostly because “she’s fat and ugly with an attitude” other complaints are because she’s “no one of significance”. I think the reaction to the piece is probably part of the point

I actually like the detail in the statue. I haven’t seen it irl yet but from the photos some of the details are pretty amazing.

it’s not the first time random statues were put around the city. We had the cows. We had the little defiant girl. Elephants. This statue is getting a lot of negative attention and it’s a little sad. Like fuck, big Black women can’t even exist as statues without everyone having an opinion. I guess that’s art but jfc some of the opinions are just. Idk you’d have to see it to believe it

Yeah, NY has "fusion voting" which means candidates can run on as many ballot lines and be endorsed by as many parties as they want. Want to run on a line with a gimmicky name? Just gotta collect the petitions and you can!
