JehutyNinja Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Like you don't belong on this planet. That give you a sense of despair, of longing. Like a sound your soul has heard eons ago and harkens you to a whole other lifetime. This isn't really like a song that makes you feel nostalgic. It's parts of songs that put a pit in your stomach, because you've heard it before, but you don't know where, yet you yearn to be back in that moment. Anyone kinda get what I'm talking about? My example is the beginning part of Man of the Year by Schoolboy Q...that part does play throughout the whole song, but hearing it by itself takes me somewhere...I dunno, not here
NaBarney Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 (edited) Nah idrk anything like that right at this moment, but let me wake up a little bit and think about it. Edited July 29, 2020 by NaBarney
Chapinator_X Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 If it helps, the beginning of Man of the Year is from this song: To its credit, it’s an amazing song too.

That's really kind of awesome that you found that. I do know for a fact I've never heard it before until I heard it sampled in Man of the Year though. It doesn't give me a feeling that takes me back to say my childhood or something... it's like...an organic mechanical sound that I recall hearing, which I know is a bit of a paradox, like through some primordial ooze or something. I don't know how to accurately describe the feeling that the sound brings.
Poof Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Wow I just manually added that song to my queue right before opening uemb And apparently added collard greens twice. Gotta fix that I gotta think about a song that has that effect of me tho
Doom Metal Alchemist Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 I have no idea what effect you're trying to describe.

new_disease Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 I kind of get what you mean. I'm sure I've felt it before but can't currently think of what song But I will add Schoolboy Q has some bangers

jezebelthenun Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 I remember listening to this in the passenger seat of my ex's car when it came out. We were just driving around, trying to get lost, and the crickets outside were so loud I thought they were part of the song. I was content for a minute, and for me to have a pleasant memory involving the guy who smashed my teeth out, well, music is pretty powerful. But I remember that drive so clearly, 20 years ago or so, like a movie scene on my eyes. 1
Seight Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 When I was in college the public access station had a show that played different indie music and this is the only song I remember seeing from it and for the life of my I don't know why
HardcoreHunter Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 The last member of the Chordettes died in February this year. IDK if that counts as feels
RollFizzlebeef Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Anything by One Direction. (Harry Styles' solo work is fine though.)
