As long as the new agenda revolves around eliminating police departments

Im behind re-organizing pd's and making new legislation to keep officers in check, but how do you say police departments need longer training regiments and to recruit from the 'best and brightest' then say they need to be defunded with the same breath? Also theres all this shit going around talking about 6 week police officer training thats complete bullshit from my experience.

SERVE and PROTECT.  (not assault and murder)

So, when four criminals who assault and murder people are extracted from among those appointed to serve and protect, AND the four criminals are placed in court to face prosecution, what do you call it?

Weren't the genuine cops who arrested those four criminals serving and protecting you?

And the other situations that have occurred before and since?  This isn't a "one off" situation.  You've got a former cop that pretty much hunted Ahmaud Arbrey.

You've got Chicago Cops - https://chicago.cbslocal.com/2020/06/09/two-witnesses-to-brickyard-mall-incident-say-police-attacked-them-for-filming-officers-who-dragged-two-women-from-car/

Tulsa cops - https://abcnews.go.com/US/video/tulsa-police-release-video-violent-jaywalking-arrest-71201277

To be sure, there are good cops and I've worked with quite a few.  Jon Burge wasn't one of them - he had a lot of cases with confessions...only to find out that he'd been torturing the confessions out of the suspects (ever see the movie "Brubaker"?).

Lemme get in here before we get moved to Rants:

"Defund The Police" really means "They should have a budget to be a police force, not the 39th Infantry Regiment of [YOUR MUNICIPALITY HERE]."

Police officers already get paid like dirt in a lot places. According to a police officer here I was making more in corrections..Places like Philly, Chicago, NY etc are going to be different of course.

Looking onto this I read a lot of places like Minneapolis for a good example spends almost half its budget on policing so there are definitely cities/state govs that need to cool their tits on the robocopping. Houston spends about 35%, but Mineapolis is in the 40's. Both could be scaled down. I was surprised Houston's even that modest, but there was the hurricane...

I like how it keeps implying that there are only four shitty police who should lose their job and that's it.

There were more.  The question should be how to keep them from joining the force to begin with, not how to fire those who did not and will not participate in murder and assault.

Peaceful protests are pretty much always accompanied by not so peaceful opportunistic rioters. That doesnt change the fact that peaceful protesting is a right protected by the first ammendment and instead of protecting people exercising that right the majority of police choose an easy target im the street rather than rioters and looters climbing in and out of buildings.. People marching with signs..reporters with their hands tied up with mics and cams, and even women and children with their hands full of fucking groceries. https://imgflip.com/i/oqy48

I've participated in my share of picketing and protesting.  We just didn't invite violent radicals.  Nothing burned, not one window broken and not one black police officer stabbed in the neck.

Why not eliminate concrete as well?  The sidewalks could be paved with mattresses.

policing needs to change or the people will change the landscape of the country

pick and choose
