I'm getting really tired of hearing "oh you'll want kids some time"

yah.. i think vasectomies should be the norm instead of bc for women. it kills women and has all these side effects meanwhile vasectomies are reversible.

I used to be so sure I wanted kids but the older I've gotten the less sure I was about it. Now I'm sure I don't want them, especially not my own too many mental and physical disorders to risk passing on. I think Kidney's nieces and nephews are good enough for me. I like kids well enough in small doses but more as an aunt kind of role where I can be the one that gets to do fun stuff with them and then drop them back off home.

Kidney's brothers don't really seem to know what birth control is so I'm sure they'll keep popping out more kids for awhile. We've talked about it a bit and once we buy a house we'll probably keep an extra bedroom or two in case any of the kids want to come stay with us. Lord knows they need the positive influence in their lives and the escape from the craziness that is the rest of his family.

I wonder if I could find a doctor that would let me get my tubes tied before I'm like 40 because "wHaT iF yOur huSbanD wAntS kiDs SomEdaY"

Everyone when a grown-ass adult says they don't want kids: "But how can you know! You'll change your mind one day."

Seriously when I was a kid and teen I would tell people how I wanted kids one day and no one questioned it. But when you get older and fully understand just how much goes into raising a child and say "actually never mind" suddenly everyone loses their minds

I never wanted kids either. I thoroughly enjoyed the single life and my OB wouldn't tie my tubes when I asked initially because I was too young. Then she wouldn't tie my tubes after my c-section. 

I love my kid, but ..... do not recommend

Lots of old people say you need to have kids so they can take care of you when you get old, but having kids doesn't guarantee that they will want to take care of you. There's a bunch of patients that have nobody and its sad, but there's also some people with kids, and their kids are just not shit so ... they're still alone

I cannot have kids, but would like at least one some day. But even with adopting, I'm not sure I can properly support a child with my current income. I don't have to be super mom but I want to at least make their childhood enjoyable and set them up for success after they become adults and move out on their own.

I’m kind of indifferent. If it happens, it happens. I’ve always said I didn’t want kids, because I’ve never had any kind of motherly instincts, but I do enjoy spending time with my nephew.

My mom used to tell me I’d change my mind when I got older, but I never really have, so I think she finally accepts my position on the topic.

Really? My daughter had a rough time at summer camp...was mixed in with younger kids.. Came out of it saying she doesn't want kids of her own. I just accepted i wouldn't have grand kids and kept it moving. No big deal.
