I saw it, asked why, then completely forgot it existed until I saw this thread

If you see a small tube you should try it just for fun it's a hoot

My dentist tells me most toothpaste is the same.  Is there really any benefit to the charcoal and does it cost more?

That's an idgaf dentist answer. They definitely do not all perform about the same. Some don't even have flouride how can a dentist say that?

Idk if it applies to oral hygiene but activated charcoal is good at absorbing odors, microbes, and general gunk. It was only like $4.

Charcoal's good to cook with, but I don't want it in my mouth.

I watched a navy seal documentary and they during some sort of survival training made a guy who got sick eat charcoal to recover

That's weird. Apparently cooking with charcoal can give you cancer, I would imagine straight eating it might too, lol. Though it could be the chemical reaction provided by the fire that "sets off" the carcinigens, idk.

Yes I did read that the first time and my assessment remains unchanged.

Really?  Because you definitely typed all and not most.  An online search says most toothpastes contain pretty much the same proportions of the same active ingredients.   Where are you getting your information?  Are you an expert?

I also noticed that you didn't answer my previous questions about price and benefits.

EDIT:  I see the edit now.

I can see why it could. I'm sure any activated charcoal sold for consumptions tries to minimize the funky combustion chemicals that form whenever your burn organic material. But it's still charcoal. For the seals I think it's like any emergency treatment when they have stomach bugs and rest isn't an option. I unno

I looked it up myself.  Looks like it's mostly used for whitening and it does seem to be more expensive.

I can say that after using that millionaire toothpaste going back to crest took some adjustment.

I smoke a lot of weed and drink a lot of coffee and like to suck a lot of dick so keeping my breath fresh is a personal quest of mine as well. The cheap stuff just isn't the same to me. Even among different options of the same brand.

I personally didn’t find any benefit to it.  The only thing that I find really whitens my teeth is to brush with baking soda.  Other than that I just use $1 Pepsodent.

It probably does very little if anything at all. I'm concerned w/whitening, freshness, and remineralization

I actually do use it since I drink like 2 cups of coffee and tea during the day. I like how it helps a little to whiten my teeth but I’m still screwed lol

Ooooo in your experience do you think it whitens better than ordinary peroxide whitening toothpastes?

I dunno, man. I feel like if you brush twice a day and floss at least once most days, you're doing alright.

Skiles oral hygiene is not the same from person to person

Well, if you got some naturally fucked up teeth, I don't know what to tell you. But "brush your shit on the regs and floss" is never bad advice.

I’m not sure. I have a pretty messed up enamel so I do use whitening pronamel at night. The pronamel isn’t that strong, the charcoal does more for pictures. I always regret not taking the charcoal with me when I travel.

Interesting maybe I will just see how this turns out. Bc toothpaste that can potentially give u cancer but makes your teeth really white is perfect for me.

It's black. It's like I'm brushing my teeth with tar. It's so weird. I'm gonna post a pic next time I brush

it also destroys your teeth overtime and has no actual health benefits

the only reason you need to ingest activated charcoal is if you've ingested something poisonous to neutralize the poison, otherwise it doesn't have any actual beneficial effect on your health, in, fact, it makes certain medications not work

This is actually what I assumed it did because the carbon might make it abrasive.

My dentist told me that the older toothpaste brands like Pepsodent, AIM, Gleem, Ultrabrite, etc. are actually just as good as the expensive Crest and Colgate brands because the latter just overload the ingredients with mint and more mint.  Then they label it as having some great function like ultra whitening and stuff.  Since my family were poor I grew up on Pepsodent which I still use and buy at the dollar store for $1. lol

Wish you the best! I like using mine to whiten and my teeth don’t feel weaker from it.
