Best set of condiments for a hot dog is chilli and chedder cheese with some chopped onions.

Unless it's a polish sausage. Then you need some mustard and kraut.

That ain't polish sausage, that's a "polish" - a glorified hot dog.  This is polish sausage (fresh, unsmoked), and it won't fit on a bun -

It can be like a hot dog - it just depends on when you twist and whose intestines you happen to be using.

But the thing that is called a "Polish" in a Hot Dog joint, ain't Polish Sausage.  It's an overprocessed, bloated hot dog that may have some of the kielbasa spices.  They don't even taste the same.

My Dad did, and loved it...until he found out what it was.  We never had it in the house when I was a kid.

let me just say I wasn't told what it was until I had 6 bowls worth of it

to this day I can't stand the smell or taste

Grew up on Kielbasa, Kishka, Golubki, Kapusta, & Cauliflower Mushroom (including hunting through woods for the thing).

...forgot Babka, Krakow sausage, Krakus ham & Kolacky (I've tried my hand at Kolacky and Babka myself, I'm not very good at Babka).

Kiszka?! Jesus Christ!

We made a collection of my grandmother's recipes, and we did include it, but only for historical reasons.

(I've also got her studzienina recipe, which will probably see the same amount of use.)

Like Kapusta, it smells sooooo good cooking, but to me the taste is meh.  Since I can't have onions anymore, the sausages and Kapusta are out.  A whole lot of things are out.

I hope you're talking about  the studzenina cooking - the first time I took care of a GI bleed, the smell made me flash back to Grandma making kiszka.

I microwave my ice cream for a few seconds before I eat it

I do that to soften it up, otherwise it's literally impossible to scoop out.

But that reminds me, I'll do the same thing to brownies to try to simulate them being "straight out of the oven."

How badly do y'all want this icecream....Seems greedy and counter productive to heat the whole thing....Leave it out for about 5 minutes and scoop away.

i sometimes buy bags of croutons and eat them out of the bag like they were chips.

also, for dessert sometimes i like to mix peanut butter and honey (or syrup) with some kind of crunchy cereal (like grape nuts)

i just stir it up in a mug and eat it.

I put butter and sugar in my rice. After that, my eggs (which have cheese) go in and are mixed. It’s fucking amazing.
