Anyone else steal shopping baskets?

Love just walking out to my car with my groceries in one and taking it home, adding it to the stack. They're pretty useful for storing stuff and surprisingly sturdy as hell, at least the black plastic ones from Kroger. Some places are doing away with them now which sucks. I want one from Dollar Tree for the green color but it's hard to take one of theirs bc no self checkout.

There are tenants nearby who bring shopping carts from the store nearby. Ridiculous, honestly.

Baller move, if I could get home with a shopping cart I would have one for the yard and maybe another in kitchen as a bakers rack. Keep your pots and pans in there, lay a nice cutting board across it, got the extra shelf on the bottom, move it around as needed

Damn. I might just have to try to hoof it home with one

I love theft and menacing big business, but prefer to take plastic crates (large square ones or stackable rectangular ones) bc you can use them as impromptu chairs OR tables OR as storage.

Where do you even find those? Do they keep them Around Back

Goddamn it nabs. If you're going to live like you're homeless, don't half ass it. Abandon your apartment and find a bridge to live under. Lasty can do it, why can't you?

Homeless people don't have baker's racks and basketball season starts tomorrow, I'm trying to bougie on a budget here, not homeless

I don't need to do that.  I use one of these:

Mostly. I've seen the large square ones inside stores while people are stocking, but while I feel like most employees wouldn't even want to bother dealing with it if someone tried to leave with one, I'd rather not force them to have to come up with a figure for how much they actually care about plastic bins, that'd just be cruel.

Haven't seen any recently, but they used to drop the rectangle guys with the orders of bottled drinks for the restaurants in the area I was working at. We would stack them outside the back doors and we'd all move them back and forth to use as chairs during smoke breaks. And then sometimes people would throw a few of the cleanest ones in their car.

lolol how do you not look suspect carrying the basket all the way to your car and tossing it in the backseat and driving off lolol!! HAHAHA!!

Because it's a busy grocery store that starts workers at $8 an hour, who's going to stop me, the cart pusher?

.... I always wanted one from Bi-Lo. They have wheels.

Walk one out to your car, no one is going to think you're taking it they'll just assume you're a regular person who wouldn't do that and simply needs some help carrying their groceries, heh heh

Using one (or two max) bags should be enough to carry your groceries to the car if they could all fit into a basket to carry to the register. If you need more than two bags to carry your groceries to the car, chances are very high you used a shopping CART to carry them to the register, and then you push it to your car and leave it in the parking lot like everyone else.

I do accept your explanation of the employees not caring though.

My dad stole one of those newspaper things from a closed down gas station, painted it with a textured grey color, and it now works as the stereo cabinet along with other VERY waterproof storage... paper towels sit in it all winter and stay dry.

Did he bust open the coin mech and take the quarters?

five below has the best baskets, larger than grocery store baskets, and with wheels on the bottom and a long handle for wheeling it around when it gets heavy

but theirs are harder to steal

Sam’s and Costco baskets are larger, too.

their wheels aren’t always great, though. Sometimes, they are annoying as fuck, because they are all off and shit.
