The play clock is shorter, it is 24 seconds instead of 40, and they have dedicated spotting Ref to help speed things along. It is generally a pretty high paced game, really kind of enjoyable.

On a kickoff the teams are frozen until the receiver catches the ball, run-backs are a lot more fun to watch actually. After a TD they have the option to run one play for extra points, the 2 yd line is worth 1 pt, the 5 yd line is 2 pts and the 10yd line is worth 3 pts. One foot is all you need for a catch. Some of the rules regarding hitting receivers have been changed to allow for hits to break up a catch, but no helmet to helmet or spearing. Basically you can go back to a good old fashioned tackle/laying of lumber as long as it doesn't involve the head. I've been impressed with it so far, it is really good and the talent level is there.

March is basically basketball for Turner, so Toonami losing a couple slots shouldn't be a big deal. The problem is, and always has been, that Toonami is not doing a very good job engaging and building an audience. It is a niche market to begin with, so the only way to get consistently good shares is to actively engage with that audience, social media interactions, special programming event involving the audience (Tom responding to questions et al). Even things as simple as reacting to "watch party" photos or short vids would go a long way to building and engaging the audience. I do things like this all the time, in fact most of my work involves volunteer engagement. It doesn't really take much to get people to buy in to something, it just takes consistent involvement and a positive attitude. (i.e. DeMarco not trolling people on Twitter/Ask)

I hope everyone who played along had fun, regardless of when they joined. I do want to apologize for being late with updates at times, I tried very hard to get them in on Tuesdays as usual. I look forward to next year and running it again, hopefully it will go a bit smoother, although I might need to move the update at times. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it, and I'll try to plan things out in a way that produces a schedule everyone can follow. Also, I'm getting my title back....

Those are some pretty solid share numbers in key demo. It does seem to track with Toonami's past seasonal performances, so I suspect the shows currently being aired will do well this year. I don't think there will be a record set, but I suspect that the block as a whole will perform in line with the past years and probably continue. Spring is usually a pretty strong time for Toonami, with there being less sports to compete with outside of the NCAA men's tourney in March. Hopefully the trend will continue to hold for a while.

Wow the share in key demo.... A sea of green, if that keeps up then things will only be brighter for Toonami. I noticed a lack of shows being announced to replace, but I think people are forgetting that they have Blade Runner that is supposed to premiere this year at some time. Since it is an original series, I think it will be at least 12 eps, possibly 24. They might not be picking up as many new shows because of that.

What part of "Go away" don't you get?
