little_girl_lost Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 before I went to sleep, I put them on the pillow next o my head along with my phone, I wake up and the phone was there, but no trace of the glasses, I've torn my room apart looking for them, but they are nowhere to be found I called for an eye exam (which I needed new glasses anyway) and the soonest they could get me in was june 1st, and then I know it'll be at least another week before my new glasses would come in FML

fuggnificent Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 I keep old glasses as backups. If something happens to my glasses and i dont have contacts...i wouldnt be able to drive or work.
Top Gun Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 My roommate freshman year in college once came back from a toga party (yeah, really) completely plastered and managed to drag his toga across his desk, handily knocking off just about everything on it. The next morning he asked if I'd seen his glasses, and I had to fight to keep a straight face when I told him to check the pile of crap behind his desk.

enad Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 I went in for an eye exam today and I need a new prescription for the first time in a few years. $293 for one pair of new glasses and one pair of gas permeable contact lenses is pissing me off. I've considered laser surgery on my eyes but it's really expensive and my cousin had some very bad after effects when she did it.

One of these days I need to get my eyes laser'd because it'd be cheaper in the long run and also more convenient as I wouldn't have to worry about messing them up or falling off of my face while working underneath my car. Not being able to see what I'm doing while working on my car is a bit of an issue.

Not being able to see what I'm doing while working on my car is a bit of an issue. Aren't there safety glasses with straps for stuff like that? LGL, that ex needed some Keith David level knee kicks to the groin. I'm too paranoid about letting a laser near my eyes, especially since my vision isn't that bad compared to the rest of my nearly blind family. And I like my glasses, dammit. (Yes, I will use any excuse to post this video)
