@katt_goddess wow comparing your self to yomiko tradman wow

I have my own library. ;) I think it's nearing 3,500 books with a healthy collection of comics as well. It's no living on the top of a building stuffed full of books but I wouldn't mind that.

Actually the last time I was there I only bought two books too. I only stopped briefly because it was threatening to rain and they had the latest Dresden novella and the final volume of 'Jujitsu Kaisen'.

The last time I was at my favorite used bookstore, however, I got ~30 books because....books. :D

If it makes you feel better, you don't have to remove all shelved books/items twice a year to clean on and around them to keep the spiders away. :D

Something i watch periodically has something called the Tsundoku group. (I assume its the same spelling, idk). But i cant remember what its from but next time i hear it, I'll have to see if it's just randomly called that or if this newfound definition is part of a joke

No joke. The word has been around since the Meiji era. Relevant to the topic, however . . .

The Mariko Aoki phenomenon (青木まりこ現象, Aoki Mariko genshō) is a Japanese expression referring to a sudden urge to defecate that is felt upon entering bookstores.

Not that i thought you were joking....but that whatever this is from is using it as a joke that you wouldn't get unless you knew what the word meant

The spiders accent the collection

No one is going to try and borrow a book if old Charlotte and her 12 spawns are hovering over it

I get hyper aware of the yaoi manga I purchase from Barnes and Noble when I reach the cashier. It hasn’t sparked up any conversations though so I’m probably in the clear.

Dried lavender as a carpet deodorizer and a cinnamon clove spray in the back of the bookcases by the wall. When I build the shelves, I don't put backs on them so I'm able to get behind them for a more thorough cleaning just by removing all the books in that particular section.

I have a pet human skull named Toothless George that can do the gatekeeping just fine.
