I expect the tariffs to be gone by summer at this rate as Trump declares victory in his il-conceived war that he started. What a little bitch. 3 Quote

Dark_Cloud_Overhead Posted April 13 Posted April 13 I think a good analogy for this is a your typical schoolyard bully getting off on beating down all the smaller, weaker kids in the playground coming up to the only kid that's just as big and, being the arrogant fool that he is, decides to try to do the same thing to this other guy. Only turns out this kid has got a 10th degree black belt in Kung Fu and likes fighting dirty. Pretty obvious how this story ends. 2 Quote

1pooh4u Posted April 14 Posted April 14 I never experienced the level of winning that this trade war has brought about. I almost can’t handle it 🫠 lol ok. When your phone wants to make a giant poop emoji I guess, not unlike a Trump attack in a Bergdorf Goodman fitting room, you just let it happen. 1 1 2 Quote

By the same token, there will likely be intense pressure to keep delaying them until then, because of the inevitable self-destruction being laid at the feet of the GOP. Insipid Posted June 11 Posted June 11 (edited) I've been reading the Walmart Effect. I higjhy recommend it. The book is 20 years old, but it nonetheless explains how Walmart became the behemoth it is today, and how it has influence American businesses. Walmart is similar to Trump in a way; not necessarily the source of systemic issues but prime indicators of them. Hyper-consumerist car-dependent suburban culture did not start with them, but it is exacerbated by Trump and Walmart. Edited June 11 by Insipid 3 Quote
