Your buttcrack’s just one big hairy coin slot.

We'll put this on the board as our current most likely reason.

I always thought it was sheets?

What was sheets?

You can bounce a quarter off sheets?

You can bounce sheets off an ass? That makes even less sense.

I feel like the only way we'd know that is through trial and error

What else do you imagine they threw?

I was told you could bounce a quarter off my ass one or two times.

...

Mostly by my best friend that likes to be a creep.

Fantastic, get a hold of them and ask them why a quarter?

This seems like a question only creeps and historians would know the answer to. And we're not a group of people that would know any historians.

Military slang thing. The idea is that if you fixed your bed to the proper expected standards, the sheets would be so tightly tucked that you'd be able to bounce a quarter off them.

As for buttcheeks, if you are presenting plumber's crack you deserve to have someone try to flick a penny in the slot.

Bounce a coin off your bed sheets after you make it

A random beginning for a random saying...kinda fitting

In the military, you were supposed to be able to bounce a quarter off a correctly made bed.

At a party, you're supposed to be able to bounce a quarter into a solo cup (or a rocks glass) to make whoever you want to drink.  Just don't point at them or you have to drink too.  And don't swear or you have to drink.  Ah, screw it, just drink!

Be honest... you've played quarters with Malort, haven't you?

Nope, Malort wasn't widely known during the time I was with people who played quarters.  Which is a darned shame.

It would be the first time in the history of drinking that literally everyone stayed sober.

Not when I was my turn.  I was really good at it.

I went to a nursing school run by Franciscan nuns. Although it was no longer the case when I attended, several of my instructors were alumnae - in their day, the nuns would bounce a quarter off the sheets to make sure that the beds were well made, and before the students were allowed on the floor, their clinical instructors would smack their butts to make sure that they were wearing girdles.

This has been "Today in Ancient History." Please tune in again next week, when we discuss "How to Untangle Phone Cords."

Nothing so snooty.  We're talking farm kids & townies.  Quarters, "Judge & Jury", 7up, Bullshit, & Euchre.

Don't spout the false hopes, Questing Beast. You ask the impossible.
