NSAID
We all stub our toe and notice a small cut when we're washing our hands (I hope...), But what was your last "omg I'm going to remember this injury". doesn't have to be recent but awhile ago I went to donate plasma and got light headed in the parking lot, fell and scraped the shit out of my knee and face. Thankfully now that it has been more than a week you can't tell, but it had been awhile since I had an incident that people or myself would really notice. Did you learn anything from that injury (I learned that even tho I'm mostly always fine I need to start following plasma guidelines more seriously bc it only takes one time to fuck yourself up)? Do you have anything cool like I was too young to go to action park but was recently watching and listening to stuff about it and that's kinda cool bc it was a cultural thing. Anyway, nothing dark bc I could steer it that way, but it isn't that kind of thread.

The_annoying_one
Last somewhat significant injury I had was about 15 years ago. Went to pull a pan out of my oven and the corner of it touched my forearm. Burnt the shit out of me and left a mark for about 3 months. Raptorpat
we got our first real bikes when I was five, we lived on a dead end so we could ride up and down the street. had training wheels and a tall flag on the back to warn cars. anyways we were riding around but my older sister was just in some sort of snotty and/or resentful mood and refusing to acknowledge me, and would speed up so I couldn't keep up with her. she was on the opposite side of the street, so as I was trying to keep up, I was looking at her to my left. then I finally looked forward and took myself out riding right into a parked car. cried like a little baby (five year olds are kind of little babies), and a man from that house (they were having a BBQ party or something) picked me up and carried me the two or three houses back. lost a thumbnail and sliced an egg-shaped piece of skin off my thumb tip. still remember after the fact when my mom cut the dead skin flap off with scissors. wouldn't touch the bike again for ages.
1pooh4u
I got jacked up at Action Park. On their river ride. Passenger in the tube looked over and capsized the entire thing. Did the rest of the ride sans tube. The lifeguards or whatever weren’t really trying to catch me as I whizzed past them and scraped my entire left side cuz most of that surface isn’t like a slide that mother fucker was like sand paper. So many people had the same injury. That place was a death trap.
discolé monade
we had a little kickball thing for the kids this summer. the adults got to play, since there weren't enough kids. i didn't want to play. BUT, i decided to, so the boy wouldn't feel...iono... of course he didn't, but i'm a mom we think...weird things sometimes. ANYWAY....i wind up... i take the kick, i can easily get to 2nd.... except, somehow, i turned my left leg, before the right, or visa-versa, at the same time thinking 'i should have REALLY stretched' then BAM, i went down, like a tree. i pulled my hamstring. a couple days later, i still was having trouble walking, but i never looked, because it was an inside pain. mid yells 'JFC wtf is wrong with back of your leg?" my entire upper left leg was one giant bruise. from the butt cheek down to the knee and covering the entire back of the leg. and for weeks, i could see the bruising breaking up, and traveling down toward the foot.

katt_goddess
I got a papercut yesterday. I don't care what you think, it hurt like a bitch. As far as not-a-papercut things, maybe most recent was I jacked my ankle big time and broke two toes [ thought it was only one but it was both the big and second toes ] in Atlanta probably that Friday and didn't realize just how bad it was until I was on the flight home Tuesday. I was in a boot for about a week and a half before I said screw it.
discolé monade
we used to go to 'alpine slide' at magic mountain/vt. talk about a death wish. i've gotten burned SO many times, rubbing on the tubes. but we got so 'good' that we'd bring gloves, prop our foot on the 'stick' and just basically luge down cement tubes.

💜 mahala_la_la
Made the mistake of trying to run across a parking lot and falling on the pavement 8 years ago. Took a little chunk out of my left knee that left a roughly dime-sized scar.

The alpine slide at action park had tons of injuries too. They also had this slide that went in a loop. People died in that thing. The Fuckin life guards didn’t know how to even swim 😆 the cliff and rope jumps had pools that were so cold and some people almost died because they didn’t even know how to swim either. That place was a fuckin mad house 😆 no engineers designed the rides. Everything was created from the head of some jack ass 😆 lol wtf is this thing even dumping you out into? Just grass? 1
Lynnrael
I'm always in some kind of pain and have had a lot of injuries. combine that with my weird adhd memory and it's a really hard question to answer. the last one that stands out that i remember happened that last night i worked at FedEx ground. perfect way to end one of the worst job experiences of my life. i was stepping into the belly of a truck to load it, and my knee went full force into a metal lip on the wall. it hurt so bad but I'm pretty sure I've had worse pain and more damage at a few points since then. it's just that i dissociate out of pain so much that sometimes it's hard to remember exactly it happened. the knee injury was in 2019, and lots has happened since then. scoobdog
I just want to say, getting jacked up at Action Park is like mythical. That shit is a badge of honor: I live on the other side of the continent and I’ve heard stories about that place. The last significant injury I had was when my rear tire spontaneously flattened, and I landed on my side while going about 15mph around a corner. I cracked ribs doing that. 1
-Ninja_Jesus-
Hit my shin too hard on a flat bed shopping cart, probably needed stitches at the time. Took 3 weeks to actually start the healing process, it was an open sore (with bandaids and whatnot!) for a bit.
-Ninja_Jesus-
Update: I fell and hit my head and now there's a scar on my eyebrow.
