lol...you didn't laugh at all during it?

I mean yeah, I laughed a bunch, but I full-body cringed even more, and even engaged in a few bouts of incredibly depressing self-reflection.  It's a rough watch, albeit a really good one.

I like a large variety. It kind of just depends on my mood. I found a pretty amazing one last week. It was called Domestic sister. It should have been called a series of extremely bad choices. I loved Rascal senpai does not dream of bunny girl. That series and specifically the move was just so gut wrenchingly amazing. I was in the mood for a straight up rom com tonight but haven't been able to find it yet.

Oh god, Domestic Sister was a whirlwind. I was surprised by Rascal Senpai...it was good.

And do you deny that there's romance in it?

'Cause what I'm hearing is your description of satirical humor, a satire, otherwise known as comic tragedy.  And if you can't deny there's romance in it then we, my friend, have seen (as you put it) a rom com.  Albeit a demoralizing one full of self-deprecation.  Hey, what better comic tragedy than comic tragedy that resonates within you?  I can go into why the romance seems secondary in it as well but I don't want to spoil it for anybody who hasn't seen it yet.

For some reason I stopped watching Arakawa partway through and more recently finally finished it.  What a wonderful whirlwind of a show!!

The Devil is a Part-Timer - a bit of action, a lot of comedy, and some romance

Shenryuu Shoujo

Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai

Working!! (One of my favorites ☀️)

Using the genre rom com a bit loosely with some of these 😂

Nathan Chen just blew out the ISU Grand Prix a couple days ago, with Yuzuru Hanyu coming in second.  They were both awesome.  5 quads each!  Remember when YoI watchers said that 4 was unrealistic?  :)  (sorry for the lame vid for Chen - NBC's got the good stuff locked up behind their paywalls)

Awww ... thank you for this, I know what I'll be doing on my lunch break

Getting sucked down a hole of ice skating on youtube

<.<

but then why wait until lunch.

Why not both? >.>

I waited all day to go home and watch it, got to the opening and the miniature all of a sudden takes notice of it, he just suddenly started pretending to ice skate all through the house then ... he climbed on top of the bed and tried to spin off of it and  ... so now I have to watch in private.

so like in 3 minute intervals

I'm half way through the episode I started yesterday.

Let him watch this, where it all started (trying to find it w/o subs seems to be impossible.  Hard to find it at all).

Then watch this, which is a beautiful companion video.

I went through a period in highschool when I was obsessed with Ai Yazawa so Ive read/watched/bought all of Paradise Kiss and read Nana. I think I may have watched it to a point when it was on Netflix.

I think I still have my Shoujobeat magazines in storage XD i used to keep the one with Ren and Nana on my coffee table

Spoiler

Until Ren did what he did

I wouldn’t put Nana in the romantic category.

I feel like it .... kinda is

Its Shoujo. Somebody's in love throughout the whole thing, even if its just Nana and Hachi

Forgot about Cross Game. Hey, I thought there was an unspoken rule not to acknowledge Usagi Drop as a romantic story.

I still wouldn't put that as a "romantic comedy", though. It's a little serious, no?

Seen it. This one's getting a third season next year. I'm kinda excited about it.

I never thought that you would be our board's romance anime connoisseur.

It runs in the family I guess. My mother writes romance novels.  I've never read them. It's not just romcoms that I've devoured.  I've seen all the anime.....all of it.

My grandma has a ton of romance novels in her little library. I was going to give them a shot but then I discovered she wrote comments in them and Im afraid of what she wrote in the sex scenes

I have the same fear. Mom doesn't really write hardcore things but just knowing what she might have done or dreamed of......all my nope.

I'm not sure if harems count but We Never Learn (Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai!) is very good.

The second season is going on right now.  Hayate the Combat Butler is one of my favorites.

Bokura wa Minna Kawai-sou is a good one.

I've seen all the harems. I do like we never learn but this season being mostly filler has been a disappointment. I started Hyate but never finished it.

Did you only watch part of season one of Hayate?  Season two is much better and pretty close to the manga.

Season one is pretty much all filler except for the first couple episodes.  You could skip almost all of season one and not miss anything important to the story.

Edit:  Just thought of another one.  Did you see Dagashi Kashi?  Kyoukai no Rinne is good as well.

Yeah........Clanaad......you might want to get some tissues, man.

I recommend that you get any firearms out of the house, as well.
