What's the oldest classic car you'd get for an everyday drive vehicle?

Like it's your only car, so long distance, bad weather, whatever, it's your only car.

You can answer even if you're not a car person. You can just say a year or decade.

If you are a car person you can give a year/make/model and as many answers as you want. And/or your reasoning like why that year/which modern technologies you would or wouldn't do without for an everyday car.

Or recommend an aged cheese instead if want, idk, OK?

flintsones car.

but serious answer, 89 civic. gas efficiency. simplicity.

im not a car guy lol.

I started driving on an oldsmobile delta 88. All I can remember is that it was definitely the 8th gen so it was somewhere between 1977–1985.

Then I got a 2000 toyota camry.

Those are the only 2 cars I ever had. I've had no car for like almost 7 years now.

I actually miss the delta 88. I always wanted another car like that. Like something from the 70s but now that it's almost the 20s again, I feel like it's just too old now for some reason. Of course I have no reason for that which is kinda why I made this thread

I've heard they prefer to be called Autobots or Decepticons

Just informing you so you don't sound so offensive in the future

I guess going by your post and my reply, I have mine as well... but it's making its way toward being more of a weekend car... especially since I lowered it and bought 17x9 front and 17x10.5 rear wheels for it (still have to put on my 5-lug stuff and buy $1200 in tires :| )... can't really rotate staggered tires. BUT, I have it set up to be a very comfortable car with some ass behind it at least. Plus in colder months I'll have a warm ass :D

And yes @Naraku4656, I really appreciate the '86 and newer Crown Vic... but I'd want the Country Squire model. ;)

Just needs that woodgrain...

Actually LTD's and the related look just as good without woodgrain, thanks to their body lines. It's GM cars that look bland...

Ford Galaxy 500.

My brother had one.  He beat the shit out of it and never took it to a mechanic.

But, it was still running when he sold it three years after buying it.

Datsun 240z

Not because of the bandwagon everyone's on now, but because this was the very first car I ever saw, way back when, that made me appreciate cars....
