because apparently my kitchen breaker flipped which left the crock pot unpowered and the uncooked meat sat out for 3 hours -_-

I used to live down by the coast and when hurricane irene(I think) hit Houston it knocked out the power for all the restaurants and shit in my area...so instead of letting the food go to waste they just got a fuck ton of propane grills and invited the neighborhood to come and eat

I find this happens to more so because I forget to eat what I bought and it becomes a sentient mold monster and then I have to get the beatin' stick, versus your dilemma.

I had this problem bad when i lived alone lol

I ate out so much all my groceries rotted

my trick is that when i have too much of something i'll invite over the gf who usually helps me finish stuff lol.

I only truly fed one guy. But I went and got all the ingredients just for him.

My mom cooked for him, too, after he had spent the night.

You have a gf now? When did this happen?

Also how much fucking food are you making at once that it's $30 worth? Or is shit just much more expensive down there?

i've spoken about it in the discord. it's not that big of a deal

i buy food to make for the entire week and a lot of it i bought fresh. so when the dinner failed i had to throw most of what i bought out. i guess i still have like the corn starch and the bread crumbs and eggs but other than that everything else is gone

He doesn't actually know what food costs and is just guessing, his butler does all the shopping

i really don't feel like pulling out the garbage to actually figure how the fractional cost of everything that went into that dish. the amount of food i bought on this trip was $30 and most of it was for the dinner. idk how a $30 grocery trip seems to be that foreign to folks around here but maybe i don't eat rice and lentils all day like some of you seem to.

I buy vegetables as needed.  I have no idea why that bottom compartment is called the crisper....More like the liquifier.

I can but fruit in fair amounts because the kids actually eat it.

Salads I have a good habit of using for lunch at work. Regular vegetables unless I'm cooking them that day they get forgotten

I don't think I've ever bought a fresh carrot.....Not a huge fan of them.  I'll eat them if they are in my chinese food but pretty sure they get plenty rancid.

$30 isn't bad for a grocery run just seems high to me for one meal..

It's not one meal its six. Six days worth of dinners

All the more reason you shouldn’t be wasting it. Fuck. I shop at Sam’s and Costco all the time, and even I don’t waste that much food. I’m lucky if I waste a gallon of milk or some eggs. Our food gets fucking eaten. There’s no way in fuck I’m going to ever waste $30 in food. That is 25% of the groceries for the week. Fuck that.
