Naraku4656 Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 basically 90% of the store were "nerd equipment" like toys and stuff like "reptar cereal" or whatever. there were like two small racks of CDs and a very small thing of used DVDs on the wall. I MISS THE OLD SUNCOAST STYLE RACKS OF DVDS.

fuggstop Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 They need charging stations and free wifi so i can charge my phone while i download the latest hot tracks to my phone. Wait...i have all that at home. Nevermind!
Phillies Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 I went into your mom's house for the first time in years and I wasn't too impressed either.
bnmjy Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 I never like fye. So many other stores offered everything they do for a better price or with more variety. 1
BlackNoir Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 I've only ever seen 1 FYE. like 12 years ago in California. I don't really know how I remember that since it was unimpressive even then.
Ric Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 FYE was overpriced but they were still one of the more decent places for me to find CDs back then. I don't remember if they are still in the mall or not.
lupin_bebop Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Yeah......I miss the large anime collection too.
Ric Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Just now, lupin_bebop said: Yeah......I miss the large anime collection too. Mine always had some anime, but Suncoast's selection was better.
lupin_bebop Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 I miss Suncoast. Movie Trading Company took their place here.
Naraku4656 Posted December 23, 2018 Author Posted December 23, 2018 i also miss suncoast. FYE bought them out and never had the soul they used to
DragonSinger Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 FYE was overpriced, but every once in a while I found a discounted treasure like the first Naruto movie with a metal lunch box that was 16 dollars. 1
Chapinator_X Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 The ones I’ve been to lately are massive, empty, and carry nothing but overpriced music/movies, Funko figures, and novelty items. There’s also this lingering sadness I get from going in. It used to be my favorite store at the mall after Suncoast fell, but now it’s so barren that it feels like Dawn of the Dead
NSAID Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 They were the only CD store in the mall and damn near the only option in town when I was growing up, I just assumed they weren't around any more bc... Why would they be (or maybe I'm getting it mixed up in my head with the Waldenbooks that was next to it. I wish I was able to save more of the shitty/still awesome CDs/Manga I bought at those stores so for hard evidence/pure enjoyment of my former shitty/still awesome taste).
Naraku4656 Posted December 23, 2018 Author Posted December 23, 2018 FYE should honestly just close at this point. not having it is better than looking at what it became
Greeny Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 The last time I went into an FYE I saw maybe the prettiest girl I've ever seen working there and I didn't ask her for her number.
viperxmns Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Suncoast got replaced by some unrelated garbage at my local mall, sad
Xanatos Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Hold the f on a second. Those are still a thing? Wtf you got dinosaurs shopping at Hastings and blockbusters too?
lupin_bebop Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 I miss Hastings, man. That place was the bombdiggity.

MasqueradeOverture Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 There is no reason their vinyl records need to be marked up $20 more than just going to Amazon or a local record shop.
Doom Metal Alchemist Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 The one by me just closed like earlier this month (or last month?). No big loss, we still got Rasputin, which is WAY better, even when FYE was still mostly about music.

I would have waited for her to get off work and approached her with some badass liquid courage
