You're asking a fat kid if he's going to skip a Holiday where you literally binge eat yourself into a coma?

Sir, you've asked the wrong question

I was very much looking forward to it, but alas, I must skip it.Ā

I don't want to, but I just have to pass on it this year.

If I'm being honest, and not to sound like some of the other bozo's here, I feel like I am very close to losing what is left of my mind.Ā

No, I do not need any help, and I am not depressed. I am stressed.Ā

There is a family member that is driving me crazy. Like, seriously, driving me insane.

That is the reason I have chosen to skip Thanksgiving all together.Ā

I don't want to, but I can't be bothered with unnecessary stress. I'll just make a sandwich and call it done.

At first I was thinking about skipping out on the holidays in general but now I'm seeing it as an opportunity to do things the way I want to do it this year

Let me ask you something off subject, because if anyone would know, it's you.

How is the ''new'' NES Classic? I see it has 30 games on it. Is it worth the money?

I didn't know you could modify it.

I didn't read much on it, just that it had 30 games included.

Yeah I went from 30 games to 120 games but I should warn you in advance that the controller cordĀ isĀ really really really short:|

That figures. I guess they wanted to really recreate it. I had to sit on the floor when I was a younger to play it when it was new. I guess if I get one, I'll have to do that again.Ā

I kind of wish they would have included Shadowgate and Deja Vu. I used to like those games a lot.

Cool.Ā

Yeah, I want one of those, and a Genesis.Ā

Damn I wish I hadn't gotten rid of all of those consoles and games I had.Ā

I had a few hundred NES games. Not too many SNES game, but a lot of Genesis games, and N64 games.

I still have the GameCube, but nothing before that.

I have seen them, and they looked like garbage, which is why I didn't buy it.Ā

Sega Genesis was an awesome machine, but they should have quit then. Sega CD and Sega Dreamcast were not consoles I was a fan of at all.Ā

Oh shit. The 32X isn't even worth mentioning. I bought that piece of shit, and it did nothing for my Genesis, at all. A total waste of money.

And I forgot about the Saturn. I knew I was forgetting one.

Fuck no. I had to work last year on Thanksgiving and hated every second of it. One of the most miserable days of my life.

This year I'm gonna celebrate withĀ a nice meal with my family just like I have every other year of my life (excluding last year). I'll be on call but that's just talking on the phone. Any holiday calls are worth double time, plus there's really only one hour out of the day where I'd be annoyed if I got a call (and even though it's a "crisis line" 98% of calls aren't crises; I can always screen calls from the frequent callers <_< )

Well here's another extra kick in the nuts...

Ā

SEGA USA wanted to partner up with Sony on new console but SEGA (Japan) turned it down so as a result the PlayStation was born, also there that missed opportunity to partner up with a company called Silicon Graphics a company that went on to help create the N64 and then there was that meeting with Microsoft that went nowhere and a year later the Xbox was born:|

Well, since I posted this, our plans may change.

If I can get this refrigerator tomorrow that I am looking at, then we will do it. I need a second fridge.

As ridiculous as that sounds, I really need a second refrigerator.Ā

Yeah. Sega went nowhere fast.Ā

Now you can play Sonic on Nintendo.

Which is almost on the same level of messed up as if one day, we were playing Mario on PS or Xbox.

I think that's the main selling point.Ā

I'm also looking at the Xbox style controller for it.

For me the selling point is Nintendo's first party games. If I ever get a Switch it would be the first console I've owned since the PS2. I haven't payed attention to gaming until recently so I'm not really familiar withĀ the current gaming franchises and I wouldn't be sure where to start so Switch would make the most sense for me to get since I know Mario, Kirby, Zelda ect..and I could build a collection off of those games.

I'm definitely a nintendo fanboy, but I'm also a fight gamer and Nintendo screws the pooch on that most times....I mean it took them years to get Tekken Tag 2, and no one cared when they did.Ā  Now don't get me wrong, Smash Bros is one of my favorite games ever.....But it's more party game that serious fighting title.

The Wii and Wii U are the only things from Nintendo that we haven't owned.Ā

We have all 4 PlayStation's, and 2 Xbox One's.

Wii didn't look appealing to me, but I have always liked Nintendo. So, I am going to give it another shot with the Switch. My boy loves Mario, from playing disco's 3DS. I like that the Switch games are mini cartridges like a DS, so the boy is at no risk of scratching a disc.Ā

Plus, there are a lot more kid friendly games, which is usually the case with Nintendo. I already bought Super Mario Odyssey and Minecraft for it. He has played Minecraft on the PS3, so he is familiar with it. I want to get him the Paw Patrol game too, since that is his show right now.Ā

I haven't played a Zelda game since the original NES. I never cared for the second one, but I loved the first one.Ā

I was wondering about Smash Brothers. I have never played any of them. I don't know if my boy would like it or not.Ā

Far as fighting games, I do enjoy Mortal Kombat, and I love Street Fighter.

My little brother had the Wii...was not a fan it seemed to gimmicky even for Nintendo. Based on the third party support Switch is getting to me that console feels more like the spiritual successor to the SNES and everyone knows how I feel about the SNES:D

it seems like the Nintendo hasn't had good fighters since the SNES era

Yeah, the Switch is supposed to incorporate a little bit of everything Nintendo has made up to this point.Ā

I liked my SNES. It was really ahead of it's time in some areas.Ā

I mean, all controllers now, seem to have taken the concept of the SNES controller.

I remember being mind blown when I saw the triggers on it. And more than just an A and B button.
