Didn't care about the particpants, but the ceremony was interesting.  Kinda wondered about the aisle - since the procession walks out over the final resting place of Henry VIII, Jane Seymour & King Charles I - I guess they never had the "it's disrespectful to walk on someone's grave" thing in England...unless it is meant as a diss.

And unlike others in my family, I don't know much about horses, but I could tell there was one during the carriage ride that wanted to break free & run.  The rider was really having to fight with it.

i think the big deal this go around, was how 'diverse' the ceremony was. there were woman from india invited by the bride, that make, sell, and distribute menstrual napkins, (in

india, it's still a topic of great taboo), there was m. curry, from here, the first bishop, from the u.s., and black.

i mean, i am intrigued with this new generation of royalty. i'd like to think they are going to do good things for the world.

edit~but no..i wasn't watching that pomp & circumstance.

I couldn't even wake up early enough to watch it

Aren't British royalty little more than figureheads?

honestly, i wouldn't know. i don't follow the inner workings of parliament, or englands gov.

but, given william and henry's status as it is, i would like to think they would have some sort of influence.

I didn't wake up to watch.  The Sun came up & the freakin' birds were chirping outside.  I came downstairs & it was on at the point where they were doing the vows.

I feel like most first world leaders are akin to that. Like they have some influence, but a majority of the power lies elsewhere.

Seriously who cares about who William Freklebottom the sixteenth marries? These rich bastards. They're all porn addicts you mark my words.

If you're a Brit, you'd know it only as a royal flush of tax dollars down the loo.

We all like our frivolous shit. Some frivolous shit is just different than others.

Pretty much these two reasons. The news is constantly filled with the mass murder of kids, so yeah, a black woman becoming a duchess after taming a bad boy prince is a nice distraction. Especially since our country ain't footing that bill.

How often do you expect he's going to cheat on her though?

I suspect she already caught him with some horse-faced court hostess in the broom closet at their reception.

The news stated that the Royal Family paid for the ceremony.  The town of Windsor I think was paying for the stuff outside, but considering the tourists there lining the route and shucking out $$$ into the local economy, I doubt they took a loss.

I watched it because its nice to dream. I like seeing how fancy everything was, wondering what the queen keeps in her purse, how such a big event like that is coordinated, peeping at how cute Prince George and Princess Charlotte are, seeing if the mother of the bride was going to cry, and looking at the emotion in the couple's faces. I like weddings in general though so ....

Inbred as Fuk son

Carlos The Betwitched is actually a fascinating character to read up on.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_II_of_Spain

Charles was born in Madrid to Philip IV of Spain and his second wife, Mariana of Austria. The only surviving son of his father's two marriages, he was named Prince of Asturias, a title traditionally held by the heir to the Spanish throne.

Philip and Mariana were uncle and niece, making Charles their son, first-cousin and great-nephew respectively; all eight of his great-grandparents were descendants of Joanna and Philip I of Castile.[a] The impact of this inbreeding is not fully understood; his elder sister Margaret Theresa does not appear to have suffered disabilities as he did.[2]

Charles himself was severely disabled, both physically and mentally, described as "short, lame, epileptic, senile and completely bald before 35, always on the verge of death but repeatedly baffling Christendom by continuing to live."[3] He is thought to have suffered from the endocrine disease acromegaly and a combination of rare genetic disorders often transmitted through recessive genes, including combined pituitary hormone deficiency and distal renal tubular acidosis.[4] In his case, the so-called Habsburg lip was so pronounced he spoke and ate with difficulty his entire life. He did not learn to talk until the age of four, walk until eight, was treated as an infant until he was ten and did not attend school.

it's all fake....it's a work.....it, all of it, exemplifies the height of illusion that the greatest magicians aspire to...

I hear the British royal family eats people... The guy I heard it from was definitely a racist, though, so confirmation is needed.
