tried that

What hobbies have you tried and what do you mean by tried

I can advise you on how to get a heavily planted fish tank running for right around $100, hours of...well, something to pay attention to, if nothing else

You could also join a local organization doing good and help them out and make some outside of work connections and relationships. Give you something to do, like work which you love so much

great way for me to lose my job

You can survive with another job, one which for whatever reason does not require you sacrifice your mental health for it.

Granted, survival is also a possibility by persisting in your current situation- one may look at the life of amputees to note how one can make do foregoing full functionality.

But which of those lives is more worth living?

Survival sucks. People wanna live not be a slave to meager pay and unnatural living conditions.

Different people have different values. Most would agree with that sentiment.

Some, apparently, do not.

On survival, to live any kind of life, you must first be alive. It is generally not the goal itself, but rather a necessary condition for almost all other goals. It is certainly not something worth a great deal of celebration over, but neither is it something to be so casually dismissed.

If you work at a location that does not support you, how can you say you enjoy it?

I don't think he enjoys work as much as he is just miserable and bored and fed up with being at a loss of what to do with himself when he's on his own time, so next to that going to work becomes enjoyable because he has his tasks, you know, he has his little list of whatever things to do, it's a place where he's welcome that isn't his house, gets to see people he knows, probably gets complimented from time to time on the good job he's doing, so even though it sounds like he feels the company doesn't value his health, is detrimental to his mental health in that he's afraid to seek the help he might need, it's still the best thing he's got going currently and has been for probably a long time.

This is the only sense of it I can make at least. I mean even Phillies has a harder job than me and I still hate going to work and being there so fucking much it's indescribable

Personally I love my job and find absolute joy and satisfaction in it; but that's because I work for an organization that mirrors my values and cares about everyone; not just the team members.

This guy needs some hobbies outside of work.

I would definitely go to therapy, but apart from that, I would develop a hobby with clear goals that can be accomplished and will fill you with satisfaction.

I can't tell you how much writing my fanfictions has helped me; nothing like hitting the end  of chapter 14, wrapping up a storyline, and knowing that I just created something, even if I'm apparently the only one who will ever read it.

It's still an experience.

problem is that i'm both incredibly lazy and have a short attention span. most hobbies require at least a small amount of giving a shit and i don't really have any fucks left to give. i do play board games though so that's something i guess but even that's getting old

If your job fires you for seeking therapy  im pretty sure thats illegal, and if you get insurance through your wok they should cover it.

If you work at a location that does not support you, how can you say you enjoy it?

oh they won't fire me, i just won't be re-approved. that'll get me fired. and it's not the company that would do it either

Do you know how lazy and short-attention-spanned I was when I started writing?

The very  first chapter I wrote included the thought that I would probably get bored of writing the story before any of the action started.

But you know what?

I just kept doing it.

Now look at me.

i've tried

playing an instrument

working out (which i still do, but only really during the week)

hiking

climbing

trail walking

running

driving places

shopping

doing activities for habitat

playing board games

doing activites for another non-profit

donating money

donating blood

playing competitive video games

playing non-competivite video games

taking care of an animal

taking care of a fish

learning how to fix stuff

learning how to break stuff

putting together furniture

drinking

going to random concerts

writing

reading

listening to music

finding random things on youtube

playing paintball

rollerblading

skateboarding

doing karate

trying to learn how to fix up the house.

getting better at what it is i do for work

seeing a shrink which i hate doing because they have never helped

i've given up on all of these things because none of them ever really interested me

me too, but i don't play music. i just listen to it a lot. it relates to me

these past few months i've been listening to music for well over 6 hours a day.

i don't know why or what triggered it, but i never used to do this.

i wouldn't say im more depressed than usual, but i do feel that it's changed in some way.
