UEMB Writing Competition?

One of my favorite things about ASMB was the writing competitions. I really miss those. Have any of those been organized yet? If not can we get that shit poppin? We could do short stories, poetry, or even short screenplays!

That's the thing. We'd do different types of writing. Sponges would probably excel in the dino sex catagory, but I could give him a run for his money in the screenplay category

How do we go about making this happen. I'm willing to host it. We'd need three judges to anonymously score the pieces. We could have a first through third place winner and secondary catagories (best grammar, best plot twist etc)

I dont know that i'd be greate at a screenplay, but i can whip up a mean haiku.

That sounds like a great idea. I've been thinking up stories for as many as several years at this point, and I really want to make them material.

Alright it definitely seems like everybody is down for this to happen. If any of you know of potential judges or want to judge yourself, message me. I only need 3 so it's pretty much whoever asks first. Then we can brainstorm about a prompt or theme. I'm pumped! This is gonna be awesome. Do we need an admins approval?

I can't really take him serious after reading the entire fanfic he has dedicated to dinosaur porn.

I have realized however that there are a lot more serious writers here than me from participating in old

competitions. It's definitely something worth trying to organize in my opinion..

Whoever becomes the point person for the competition, if it is you or someone else, once you work out the four corners of the competition and how it will all work, I can send out an email blast to the membership and share it via Twitter, that short of thing.

If you are doing the planning via PM instead of here, you can set up a group PM, I think up to 10 people.

We can do it here or in PM. Either way is good for me. Honestly once I get my judges set in place, we can figure out the rest relatively quickly.

I vaguely remember the rules of the old competitions. I'm not sure if you do or you have something different in mind.Just let me know the date or time period we're going to do this if we're all in favor. I'd be happy to help with planning or judging as well.

Eh, I do art contests, I like being a competitive cartoonist and illustrator,

If I had a lot of extra time, sure i'd love to,  but I'm so busy. I don't have enough time to manage something like that. I've already come to terms with the fact that I'm too  busy to have my own TV show........

I barely have enough free time to post here on UEMB like I used to on ASMB. I have a career now unfortunately.

Yes, for someone who's not rich, lives mostly in isolation, and isn't employed by one specific client, I sure do have a busy schedule! It's tough sometimes. I tell people I can't chat much longer, they always as me "why?" Cuz a man's gotta work! If I just chatted with everyone, the system would get messed up.
