i don't wanna live on a continent any more....and I mean, if war breaks out... who the fuck coming for sealand?...that's just an opportunity to make money.....ain't nobody gonna bomb sealand... :D :D

looking pathetic so the owners can claim soveriegnty?  that article said that technically it's part of

britain I think. If that's all it is it seems like a waste of effort.. There must be like 10 methlabs or

some kind of super drug in there to make it a worthwile endeavor.  :|

Great Britain built it illegally during WWII, they built a few of these things, not entirely sure why this is still standing when the others were demolished.

Doesn't really make sense to run there, you need supplies from the mainland and if it's blown to shit you're fucked anyway.

 

I'd rather live in Sealab :catlol

I read more on the article you posted. So the guy responsible for Sealands independance is a guy that used to

use a closer to shore bunker like the one in question to host a radio station that was exempt from the U.K.s

strict broadcasting laws since the BBC has sort of a complete monoploly over shit..it caught on with the

public and became known as 'pirate radio' so the uk decided to take him to court and shut him down.

 

So he then got with his lawers and moved to the current tower that's too far out for the U.K. to claim as territoy,

 

and did all the legal work to ensure he couldn't be fucked with again. Pretty cool story..

If it weren't for Hetalia, I wouldn't have even been aware of Sealand.  Anyway, I doubt the place has any good cigarettes available.

The british armed forces blew up all the bunkers around them, and dispatched ships with armed crew in a

show of force before he fired warning shots though according to the article there... I might do the same thing.

Nah brits don't have the balls. Their military doesn't anyway. According to that rather biased article pooh posted

from sealands site they had been antagonizing him for weeks, and he scared them off with a few shots.

But they introduced new air way laws forcing him to move it to Rough Tower

Because it was in international waters

So they couldn't touch him

And created his own nation after moving there

Which after a standoff with British military went to court

And the justice ruled it it's own country there for had its legal rights to the sea fort

i honestly do not believe for a second that pays the bills....I talked about this at work yesterday and had to tell them what it was...and I work with fuckin legal immigrant...one from Iran, one from Pakistan, one from Russia, one from Korea...and they never heard of it

except it doesn't actually exist, it's a sand bar with some algae on it that was only declared a seperate nation because a rich gay guy was pissed off at the Australian government for their homophobia and decided to buy an island then make it secede from Australia as a form of protest

Gay island nations aren't born.  They may choose to identify as gay island nations, but they'll always just be sand barges with some algae.
