Of all the absurd things, this is the most absurd. -
For every person you drag back to the boards, you get a free snog on the house

Welcome home! Our new software works super well with mobile, so that should definitely make it easier for you to pop in for the brief down times even when you're not at a desktop. If you're still in touch with any anime/toonami people or anyone else from the boards who didn't get the memo, please let them know we're still here! Here is the notice for luuv: https://unevenedge.com/topic/14058-rip-j-michael-crow/

We ripped up the ancient floor in the kitchen and put in tile. It took us so long to do it because we were pretty sure the old floor was asbestos tile and I was waffling on how to take care of it. So on the day of, my father ("it's not the bad kind of asbestos you're thinking of") gives me a hammer and another tool to pry off the trim, telling me to be careful and not to ruin the wood so he can reuse it after. So of course as I'm distracted, carefully trying to pry the wood off without splitting it, he takes this mean looking shovel tool and just starts scraping the whole thing up as if it were impacted snow and ice on the driveway. Dodging death aside, it looks a whole lot nicer with actual tile. -
The point of the will is that it saves them from fighting over it.

I agree, except stars wars so I clearly had no choice. Fortunately I had the once-in-a-lifetime miracle of finding a parking spot right away, and I wore comfortable shoes too!

Olive garden unlimited soup and salad?
Raptorpat replied to Drunkenwarrior's topic in Foods & Drinks
The bright side is that if a thread gets moved out of FFA, it now shows up on the main page under the recent topics widget. Soit's like an extra spotlight or something on your thread about Olive Garden. -
Yes and hopefully it's possible to avoid the malls. Because to tie it back to the OP topic before I throw it off the rails, we were at the mall last night and the mall on a weekend in December is not the place to be, unless you like mobs of people and wear comfortable shoes, because it's going to be a while.

Little of both? -
I get my sister video game stuff because it's something I know and know she'll appreciate, and every once in a while there's something specific I think of for a specific person, but this isn't really the best family to get one adult something and no one else anything. Well, the family actually does a secret santa grab bag every year to streamline things, once you hit 18 the adults stop giving you gifts and you're added to the pool. Everyone draws a name on Thanksgiving and we open one at a time on new year's, and you get three guesses as to who picked your name and got you the gift. Which sounds like a fun thing, but I'm entirely sure the grab bag started before I was born and/or before I can remember and half the people got sick of it 20 years ago, but it still happens because the people who are hardest to shop for still want to get gifts they can return.

I spent way too long trying to think up a semi-witty comment about misspelling "idiot" until I got it -
Definitely this. But I am really bad on gift-giving no matter the holiday. My extended family has always been big on the obligatory gifts and big on the cost value, as if the gift is how good of a deal you can get on the thing they're probably just going to return, so what even is the point.

the cab company i drove for went out of business
Raptorpat replied to death_by_motorboat's topic in Free-For-All
That's the cost of maintaining a full-time fleet. Uber revolutionized with the part-time, flexible fleet, but the way they lobbied states to create a part time commercial insurance product that was intentionally too expensive for any company other than Uber and Lyft to afford was just shameless, and that's the real reason why they're swallowing up the market. -
