It is really kind of mindblowing to me that this triggered our involvement in Afghanistan (and Iraq) and as of now (or I guess as of technically tomorrow), there will be people eligible to go serve in that conflict who were born after the trigger.

My school didn't let us know, so I found out when I got home and my father was watching it on the TV. Then for the next few days all the adults were very "you'll remember that day for the rest of your life, like when JFK was shot". My father's longtime girlfriend who he started dating a few year later, her mother was one of those people who happened to have to travel to the WTC for meetings that day.

I don't disagree with the notion that fans are concerned with the production as much as the product, and that has certainly had an impact. But my question still remains, why is there such a cleave on political fault lines, specifically right-leaning criticisms that the films are filled with "virtue signalling" and "woke"ness?

We send out a bulk thing like once or twice a year if there are a bunch of things going on. I think you might be able to create you own custom newsletter/report for the content you're interested in, but I've never messed around with that stuff. Email is broken though, so no newsletters for right now. Also, "newsletter" is code on the internet for "excuse to send folks content for the purpose of reminding them we exist and is actually for our benefit and not yours" so with that in mind, everyone should most certainly accept newsletters and whitelist our email address, particularly if you're prone to forgetting to visit until you forget we exist.

I can't say I agree, but don't know enough to debate the point - my original question though is how this boiled down into a political thing, with the movie being considered bad for "woke"ness and virtue signalling.
