  1. Welcome home!
  2. how attached are you to purple stand back
  3. It's definitely possible to create punishment groups. It's just that the post-merger timer is a board-wide setting. I suppose I could make a group have a post flooding limit, something to think about.
  4. So basically to answer your question in the spirit of full transparency, this involved flipping a switch in the settings and seeing if people complained or not. Whereas those other things involve time and effort and learning. My free time has kind of been limited the past two months, obviously I work full time and we're in the process of completing enough work on the new house so that I can move in before the end of the month. So, you know how it goes. The next step really is to sit and organize the punch-list of items to address, then for what hasn't already been done, KN and I can constructively chip away at what would fall under our individual wheelhouses.
  5. It was a problem with specific users, but it is a board-wide setting.
  6. Members is the member group, which is the colored rank system, which I will sort out when I find the time.
  7. So, the setting merges unbroken, concurrent chain's of replies into one post if they are made within a specific time frame. I was testing it with a time frame of a minute. So posts made within a minute would get merged. Judging by complaints, a minute is too long a timeframe, so the next time I'm at my PC tomorrow night after work I will see if I can do less than that, like ten or five seconds, and if not an option then maybe the basic function isn't good enough for what I want it to do while making everyone happy.
  8. It was done by me going into settings and turning a button from off to on. But different, better admins could have flipped that switch much faster and better than I - like back on day one - even though it is an attempt at addressing a problem that has only been around for a week.
  9. I asked for opinions, so if she doesn't like it that's totally fair for her to say.
  10. She made them for real, which is probably more up your alley. Bought wraps, cooked her own mix with turkey, beans, and the sauce, put it and rice and whatever else goes in a burrito all together, and froze them. Definitely a project, but if you like cooking and burritos it's probably rewarding/satisfying. Roast a whole chicken for dinner and then the next day rip the remainder of the carcass apart for burritos. Or if you want a real project, do it with a goddamn turkey and you will have burritos forever.
  11. Oh and I think who wants to be a millionaire was an hour every night, while jeopardy is a brisk half hour with only a brief segment of fluff after the first commercial break.
  12. I need to make a legitimate effort to bring lunch to work on a regular basis, spending between 3 and 8 dollars four or five days a week on lunch adds up, and i need to spend sparingly now that I have all these bills to pay. The lady tried making "freezer burritos" the other night, basically assembling fresh burritos and freezing them while still hot and fresh. That seemed to be a success given that she ran out of her test batch within two days.
  13. I have it set to merge a user's concurrent replies made within a minute of each other (without another user posting in between). Testing it out to see if it cuts back on obnoxious rapid-fire posting. If you have an opinion, do you like or does it make reading/posting things more confusing? test double test triple test quadruple merger test
  14. I'm testing merging concurrent replies made within a certain time (1 min) because certain users are chainposting five posts a clip and have huge signatures, and it's really annoying. If the merging thing is more annoying for everyone else, I'll switch it off. PS. make as many job threads as you want
  15. It definitely burned out Nothing can capture the simplicity of Jeopardy, and I think that's because every quiz show since has tried to outdo the previous one with flair and drama, when all viewers really care about in a quiz show is seeing the questions and getting to play along at home.

    Pokémon Go

it was a solar beam one, there were six of us and we killed less than a third of it before we realized it was futile and agreed not to jump in with fresh teams

we fought a ho-oh, we did not win. did they make potions primarily a raid award? because I've gotten barely any potions or revives in weeks and all my good dudes are half dead.
  18. I often envy my boss for her flexibility to work from home or at the office but at the same time I know that without being forced to commute to a space purely dedicated to work or without constantly being on the phone while working from home, I'd be a complete loss.
  19. Ive removed your custom group so now you have the permissions everyone else should have. I am out of town right now. I was going to sit and spend time fiddling with ranks and permissions this weekend but here I find myself in a car in a different state instead of at my desk. Once it's all straightened out I will give you your custom color back.
