  1. They had us in the first half, not gonna lie.
  2. I’ve won the day twice so I’m pretty content with at least having something to acknowledge that I have a form of presence on here
  3. It sucks that all the computers just stopped working and the internet died right when we were getting cutting edge adult chat rooms and Geosites.
  4. In any 2010's Best Of list worth its salt, there'd be Madoka, Fate/Zero, and Steins;Gate. But the video is for his favorites from the decade, so I just misinterpreted it as his version of a definitive Best of 2010's. Mother's Basement always had that tendency of being one of those ani-tubers where the thumbnail tells you exactly what kind of discourse you're getting, so I was guarded about whether this was going to be a video about how his choices are the greatest and yours are either overrated or the worst. As far as favorites go, I'd have to go with Madoka/Fate/S;G, Mawaru Penguindrum, Humanity Has Declined, The Eccentric Family, Tatami Galaxy, Re;Zero, A Place Further Than the Universe, Kaguya-sama, and Asobi Asobase.
  5. While I did say "piracy", what I'm getting at is that legal streaming is fairly new in Japan and I don't think that their production companies are as open to having their titles available to stream for a rate as low as most streaming sites offer. Unless it's a series adapted for Netflix or a streaming site, production companies would have a difficult time playing ball with simulcasting big name shows, especially when it would cut into the possibility of pushing out more units/merch to have it show up right away to stream at will with no strings attached aside from ads or a $5 - $10 a month subscription fee.
  6. Thank you based Poland, Belarus, Mauritania, and Antarctica for having great taste. Also, hats off to Nauru and Norfolk Island for having that one dude that happened to watch a niche anime and have it count towards the nation's most popular show. Wonder how Japan's CR service is like, given that they are staunchly anti-piracy and RWBY on there is likely because it's a web series that wouldn't require any hand-wringing from Kadokawa, Toei, or any other high profile production company.
  7. Oatmeal and some Christmas cookies
  8. I need to check out Kengan Ashura. The cameo characters that showed up in How Many Dumbbells can You Lift were very amusing and odd, especially the creepy glasses professor.
  9. Wonder how George Lucas would’ve tried to fit him into the original trilogy if he was compelled to include him in the movies
  10. It had one chance to make a solid impression when Naruto knocked it out of the park. Naruto’s success likely would’ve helped to continue opening up doors for shows like One Piece to arrive and act as a gateway into other Shounen Jump anime to be localized. But the first impression of One Piece filtered through by 4kidz’s creative decisions was a joke. The artwork was already kiddish enough, but this was increased tenfold with the terrible dubbing direction and changes that made it much more embarrassing to watch. It comes off like they were trying to mock their audience and treat them like they are experiencing bullshit baby watch night. Whereas Naruto didn’t try to alienate audiences who were watching tween programming disguised as a violent and cool ninja show, 4Piece immediately dove into their magicians hat of the same embarrassing Saturday morning cartoon tropes that made the 90’s Pokémon dub fun to rag on. Who wouldn’t have had the impression that One Piece was a TV show for toddlers when it does more to mimic a Saturday morning cartoon than any of the middle/high school level content they would come to expect from the more successful shows Toonami has aired? By the time Funimation picked it up, it was already damaged goods. Could you return to a faithful OP production and not think of the 4kidz rap theme song? Wouldn’t you have moved on to Bleach or Shippuden by that point? Did you expect the opening coming on and hearing the dulcet tones of Vic Mignogna instead of “YAYO-YAAAAA-YOOOO” to suddenly wash away any of the ill will and bad taste brought about by the years that 4Kidz defined what One Piece was in the West? It’d be a fools errand to think those put off by their first impression of One Piece would suddenly be on-board like those who religiously live and breathe the manga, no matter if it gets good by the time you get to Thriller Bark.
  11. Quintessential Quintuplets 2 because I'm a masochist. Also interested in Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na because Masaaki Yuasa's back at it again.
  12. Publix
  13. At the moment, the FFVII remake, Persona 5 Scramble, and No More Heroes 3 are probably the only ones that would get my money right away. I've got quite a bit of a backlog with Breath of the Wild, RE2, the Shenmue HD Collection, and Death Stranding. Not to mention older games I've been meaning to get like Pokemon Sword, Travis Strikes Again, Yakuza 6, etc.
  14. I hate how my body reacts to stress. I’m not allergic to crab but now I’m gagging, having terrible itchy coughing fits, and panicking over the possibility of gaining an allergy to crab fried rice.
  15. That’s why I try to buy my weeb stuff on different websites. No one in my family who shares the Prime account needs to know about my intake of Japanese girl cartoons.
  16. A metric ton of socks, some basketball shirts, and Breath of the Wild.
  17. I used to listen to "____ in abandoned mall". There's a kinda nostalgic feel to it, like a fond experience from two decades ago that I can get lost in for a couple minutes.
  18. Pokémon Snap Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Tekken 2 Persona 3 FES Smash Bros Ultimate
  19. Need to add Jet Set Radio, Darkstalkers III, and Street Fighter III to my list.
  20. All he needs to do is reboot the franchise with a different guy. Night Shift Nurses knew how to make sure a good idea never goes to waste. Why can’t this dude?
  21. Make sure to get some pralines while you're there.
  22. Unless there's a company that licensed it in English who sells it on their own website, your main options are RightStuf, your standard online DVD sites, or the seven seas.
