  1. Just caught up with it the other day. On paper it sounds like it’d be a lot more mean-spirited like those ecchi anime where women are seen as only worthwhile for their physical attributes. But the artstyle and the jokes centered around their experiences with mythological beings-of-the-night make it too cutesy and tongue-in-cheek to get that kinda vibe from it. I think I got it as soon as they went to the fairy establishment and each of the guys were paired up with fairies based on their size. Where there’s mixed signals on whether it’s a good or bad thing to be well endowed if you’re trying to get paired with as many fairies as possible.

  4. Down here it’s only in the 40’s-50’s.
  5. I’m going to be honest. Alien Queen is the biggest reason I keep coming back for Hero Macadamia.
  6. Probably, but I think they’d be galaxies away and very few of them, if any, would have the technology to possibly travel from one galaxy to another.
  7. Anituber is Strike 1. Two hour video is Strike 2. And Bleach is Strike 3. I don’t think it’ll present any new information you couldn’t deduce from general knowledge about Bleach’s unfortunate decline. But it should be fine to play in the background while you’re doing other things.
  8. I’ve only seen the first two seasons, but it reminded me of old Naruto before Shippuden. Where younger folks could feel inspired seeing an underdog be able to hold his own as a new student at an academy with similar students. There are hot-button rivalries, a cool tournament arc, lessons where everyone’s getting their ass beat trying to find the secret to completing them, and villains plotting to topple the city’s main symbols of hope. It’s not sophisticated and there are much better shounen to get into, but you’d have to come in with the mindset of scratching that itch for something similar to the magic older Naruto episodes had in order to see the appeal.
  9. That first sip of good coffee in the morning. After a bowl of ramen, when you save the marinated soft boiled egg for last, and then eat it whole. The sound of a watermelon being sliced. Getting a new recipe right on the first try. Correctly pulling off a quick rap verse. Nutting and being proud of what you nutted to.

  13. 😳 Maybe I’ll set aside some time for Ishuzoku Reviewers. By the way, I’m glad I gave Kimetsu no Yaiba more of a chance cause I think I overlooked it’s earlier episodes while I was gushing over Sarazanmai. But after getting around the examination arc and Inosuke’s intro, I got more invested on the show and started marathoning through the manga. Now I’m up to date, but it’s been a great read.
  14. Thanks! I think over time, it just got irritating to see people dismiss something by attacking the people who enjoy it. Unless it’s illegal material, it’s counterproductive to attack fans of something because it’s not your bag. I’ll definitely still mock a show for its quality or its subject matter. There are times where I might go as far as to say a writer has a particular mindset when making a certain story. But what good would it do to go into a show I know I won’t like it and announcing to the world that I don’t like it? Nowadays, I’d rather be disappointed because I had high hopes for a series that let me down than shit on a show I don’t like whenever I get the chance. I guess it’s like some of the ANN previews where someone will review a show not because it’s on their radar but because it’s an easy target. Sorry for getting rambly. This post is currently brought to you by Sapporo Black.
  15. Shows like Ishuzoku Reviewers clearly have some merit to it if it got a thread before better received shows this season. 😂 But I’m not the type to shit on someone for enjoying ecchi or outrageous anime. If anything, many of those shows carry value by virtue of being provocative or unique. And there are many that are great because they excel at what they do. Any show I’ve watched because the main lady was milfy turned out to be pretty great 👍. There are many shows I’m not into, but I’ve stopped acting like someone is fundamentally wrong for liking something I don’t like. Now hating something I DO like is where I’d throw down start judging, but at that point I’m just being petty. Haven’t watched it because my weekends are too packed to regularly follow a show that lands on Saturdays, but the manga was surprisingly tasteful for its premise when I read it for Winter previews. The cutesy art gives a sense of charm to the premise.

  18. I have a little bit of an ASMR tingle whenever the voice of the Costco/BJ’s self-checkout says the word “nine”. There’s too much emphasis on the word “nine” for it to be a coincidence.

  20. When I was younger I was all about saving the crusts for their garlic butter. But when I last had Papa Johns, it felt different, the garlic butter didn’t taste the same. Either they changed the recipe, or their pizza didn’t taste as good with the sauce anymore.
  21. They also snubbed The Lighthouse and The Farewell. Feels like they're continuing the trend from last year of slating in popular films regardless of their quality like Bohemian Rhapsody and Green Book.
