  1. Yeah I know. On paper that idea sounds absolutely genius, but in practice (at least where I had it) there was practically no steak in the chicken fried steak. Defeats the whole purpose.
  2. Hey getting a job is really tough for some people (like me). Now actually WANTING to get a job, that's what Phillies needs.
  3. Hell yeah! I tend to skip bedtime sunday nights. I work nights and Mondays are the beginning of my "weekends" so I don't have to go to bed within a few hours of me getting home from work, so I just stay up.
  4. Yeah I think that's what the menu called it too where I had it.
  5. None. I have cable TV and collect CDs. Old school as fuck.
  6. Oh god, absolutely agreed. One time I saw it on the menu, and I was like, "It's steak... but fried like chicken???? I gotta taste this!" When the plate arrived I think the layer of fried breading was thicker than the actual meat on that sheet of paper called a steak.
  7. Peas were the bane of my childhood. In recent years I've figured out a way to tolerate them: I mix up literally everything in my plate. So each mouthful of pea is a (hopefully) mouthful of a ton of different things all at once that really dilutes the pea taste. Kale makes me gag when it's not drowning enough in some kind of sauce to make it tolerable. Broccoli often makes me gag. Heh, all green vegetables. Someone above (I think it was rogue) said well done steak. I guess for me it would be "well done" anything. I would actually probably love well done steak if the entire thing wasn't covered in a layer of charcoal. For some reason I like mayo on my BK whoppers but I HATE it on my fast food chicken sandwiches. So fucking gross.
  8. I'm not racist, but I am very, very racist.
  9. Ugh, let's try this again. TL;DR in red at the bottom. Boo's recent T-Rex with boxing gloves vs Barney the dinosaur posts got me thinking yesterday... When Barney came out, I was already outside of his target demographic age wise, but I was still a kid, so I hated him right out of the gate. What surprised me though was even a lot of parents hated Barney. My exposure to Barney was just very small clips of him doing his laugh and the "I love you... you love me..." song. I figured that Barney was probably wholesome, so the parents of the kids who watched Barney would "like" Barney just because he was wholesome TV for the kids. I also wonder what Barney has done for nurturing or hindering children's interests in learning about dinosaurs. I fucking loved dinosaurs as a kid. And I think that's why I found Barney so offensive. Dinosaurs are cool! T-Rexes are vicious and bad-ass! Barney is none of these things! I wonder if people who loved Barney as children, when they outgrew Barney, they outgrow dinosaurs in general too? Because Barney is "for babies" so they associate dinosaurs with being for babies.... Or did loving Barney as a little tyke lead to loving dinosaurs even MORE once you left Barney behind? Another thing that interests me.... I don't care to google which came first, but I think Jurassic Park and Barney came out around the same time.... do you think that if Jurassic Park didn't become the cultural phenomenon that it was, the cutesey loveable purple guy would've been what everyone thought of when they thought of dinosaurs? We may have been lucky that Jurassic Park's tremendous success keeps people aware of how badass dinosaurs are, and we can just ignore that singing purple thing. Without Jurassic Park, Barney may be what everyone thinks of when they think of dinosaurs, and then no one would like dinosaurs when they grew out of being toddlers. So.... Was Barney around when you were young enough to be in his demographic? Did you like him? Why or why not? Do you think Barney helped shape your interest or lack thereof in dinosaurs as you got older? Parents.... does / did any of your children watch Barney? What do you think of the show as a parent?
  10. Even more so now that I am in a doom metal-ish band of my own...
  11. I did not get that song at all when it came out. I don't feel like listening to it again now.

  15. You never know, my eye sight didn't go downhill until my early teens. EDIT: Pre-teens would probably be more correct than early teens.
  16. Hey @TrigunBebop, someone here feels "deflated." You know what to do.
