Holy hell. This is an income restricted apartment complex. And they just replaced all the laundry machines in their facility with ones that only take payment via smartphone app. Even if my phone could scan the codes or whatever (it might, but I've never fucked with that), I don't have a mobile internet data plan, so I have no internet in the laundry facility, and thus, cannot do laundry. How the fuck these assheads not going to give any consideration to accessibility? Shit outta luck if you don't have a device that can interact with these things.

Yeah, I hold no illusions that it could, or should, be continued. That's just kinda my wild idea for what they could've done with this if/when the realized just how off the rails they were getting at the end. There really is no coming back from "you have to decide the fate of the world (and we have done absolutely nothing to foreshadow this event)."

How to follow up with this: "Turns out, the navy took off with some of the most important treasures from history. Relics so powerful, they threaten the course of future events. It's our responsibility to track these items down and return them to Eden" There. I just stretched this shit out by like 200 episodes. Fighting military, royalty, rival pirates, the works. Do some pirating, do some ninja-ing, character development, world building, background, exposition. Just... gotta treat this ending like a massive fart and keep walking as if nothing happened.

batman Batman: The Long Halloween Discussion

Additional plot hole: If the overall motivation was revenge on the family or whatever, why was her first target someone ready to snitch on the family? -

So... why was Joker fighting Batman in that last fight? Wasn't he in this to kill Holiday? Surely he would've been gunning for Two Face at that point... -

Toonami's certain yet somehow also uncertain future
rpgamer replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
...Have you seen my music tastes? Accordion is hardly a threat. And, y'know, since I didn't particularly care for the show... I wouldn't even recognize the theme anyway. Also probably turned off tag notifications a long time ago.- 47 replies

Toonami's certain yet somehow also uncertain future

One that doesn't get Netflix. Plus, like... I didn't enjoy the series. Seems pretty natural I wouldn't keep up on the news about it. I mean. The campy over-the-top isn't awful. It's just gone on a bit longer than I personally find pleasant.- 47 replies

Adult Swim didn’t actually lose Cowboy Bebop

Thought someone mentioned they pretty much have a lock on SD, it's HD remaster whatever that they (might've) lost. -
Batman Under The Red Hood Discussion
rpgamer replied to CountFrylock's topic in Episode Discussion Archive
I did have Netflix for a brief while... I guess it's not impossible I watched it there. Nothing I've searched for seems to indicate that the Red Hood story was adapted into anything else.. I'm certain I'd seen the scene of Joker asking for a glass of water... And the standoff at the end was familiar.. I'll just assume it was Netflix, cuz can't figure out where else it might've aired. -

Maybe it aired on Pluto TV or something... damn, this is gonna bug the hell out of me. I know I've seen this before. -

Wait a minute... is this the one where Batman confronts Joker at a carnival or something? And possibly kills him? No, wait, maybe not... seems like a similar art style, tho. -

Kinda can't tell if I've already seen this before, or if I just know the Red Hood story from something else... 2010... I guess probably this aired at some point before. -

This is already serving as a pleasing palette cleanser after that last mess. -

Even I feel like I was dimly aware of the grape soda stereotype... maybe there's regional variants? Or tsar's just finally going senile.

Basically, I'd take a hundred more seasons of this than ever risk picking up more Sword Art Online. Plot hole, tho: complete failure to establish the significance of the 5 leaf grimoire prior to sealing a devil in it. She "just found it." Did it have magic pre-devil power? Did she also seal the swords in there? Was it somehow just a blank slate? Who knows! It's just an (in)convenient plot device that they had to retroactively cram some backstory lore into. Fortunately, just a bit of throwaway lore that they'd never likely return to anyway, it simply is what it is now.

Just wait til you see the poops after.

Ain't it kinda funny, tho, how something so simple triggers our dumb monkey brain? Like. Just a glass marble. Nothing exceptional about it. There's no logical reason to want to have it or anything. But. It's there. Teasing you. And people go to all this effort to get it out, just for the satisfaction of it. Brilliant marketing, really.

Holy hell am I so done with this mechanic. Stop in last Thursday: "Hey, my parking brake hasn't worked since you replaced calipers months ago, let's try swapping those out." "Ok, bring it in Monday, we'll get it figured out." Monday: *nothing* Tuesday: "Hey where we at on this?" "They're still trying to figure out what's wrong" Wednesday: "Turns out you need new calipers, they'll be here tomorrow." ".................." Thursday: "So turns out one of these new ones still isn't working right, gotta order another, it'll be here tomorrow." "........................................" Frankly I'm only here because they're under warranty and this is getting done for free, but damn, not even sure that's worth it at this point.

Netflix releases first visuals of their live action Cowboy Bebop
rpgamer replied to Jman's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
I'd wager, after the voices, the music is going to be the second big hurdle in whether this turns out acceptable. Even if they got Kanno on board, there's no guarantee it'd have the same punch these decades later..
