Tariffs aren't making enough revenue. Gotta squeeze some money out of somewhere.

Who was your favorite board disruption
rpgamer replied to André Toulon's topic in General Discussion
Does VirtualSatyr count? Wildly entertaining how he could rile some people up despite how over the top his stories were. Maybe DA EXPLOSIONS. I keep trying to think way back, but everyone I come up with that got people angry were just classic Ranters back when Rants was full of angry. I sorta seem to recall Mirage_Knight turned out to be a piece of work.. -
Not quite as exciting, but if you also want to help with fish science, there's also the FathomVerse app.

The only Archie Comics I ever read was the Sonic comics.. Now there's some untapped potential that neither the games nor the cartoons ever fully tapped into. Maybe someday we'll get a proper adaptation... (but probably not because lawsuits.. of course).

Weird shit from the weird side of youtube

Every once in a while, the Algorithm just nails it. Saxsquatch. Does not disappoint. -
Soooo... what are the odds he just doesn't come back from this trip?

"Because obviously we shouldn't have to be worrying about what happens in other countries." "I thought libs wanted us to stop being the world police" Maybe "Why is this one random guy so important to everyone?" But, given general lack of empathy, probably heard about the deportation and said "oh well, done is done" and gave no further thought to it.

Can't leave out the part where it makes him look like a total genius to his cult for giving the economy such a yuge boost. Look at those numbers go up!! (nevermind that it has also served to demonstrate "the economy" is only and entirely in service to billionaires)

Been kinda mulling over where we're at, faced with a party that has embraced an ethos of "empathy is a weakness." For a minute there I was agonizing over how to stand in opposition to that without also losing empathy for them in the process... But then I kinda remembered supporting fascism is pretty far over that line and it's always morally right to say "fuck 'em." Still.. not entirely sure where we go from here as a nation, knowing half of us can't think beyond themselves.. This isn't at all a response to any previous posts. Just kinda.. yeah. Thinking about what's next, now that empathy has basically become our political divider..

All according to plan. Shame we'll never be able to hold them accountable even if it does come to light that they literally schemed this on Yahoo messenger or some shit.

Comes as no surprise from a party that has embraced "empathy is a weakness." MD will be here shortly to demonstrate how great everything is as long as you don't care about trying to be a good person.

Only a little surprised they're going with another sequel system, given how much of a disaster the Wii U was.... Guess they're banking on that "2" making it much clearer this isn't just the same thing in a new package. Personally... yeah, if I'm gonna buy another system, it'd probably be Steam. I usually really enjoy Nintendo first-party games, but Zelda and Mario were such departures that I don't really have a lot of optimism or anticipation for future installments..

Elon Musk now owns Twitter, apparently trying to run it into the ground
rpgamer replied to Jman's topic in Current Events
The monetary value feels pretty irrelevant when the social value is completely gone. -
The cruelty is the point That's the point. Come back with something to post to "trigger" everyone and then sit back and laugh at how people seem to, like, show empathy? Whatever that is. I just hope any R with any actual shred of empathy recognizes this and jumps ship. Empathy strictly puts you counter to that cult's ideals. No amount of rationalization can smooth over that cognitive dissonance, of actually caring for any one or any group, and supporting this genocidal regime.

Tracks for a Trump supporter, tho. Real question is whether wife regrets marrying man who shows no remorse for supporting her deportation.

I feel like I'm confused on the idea of "illegally fired." Like. If someone doesn't have the authority to fire you, how are you out of a job?

I've been kinda thinking about the prospects of future elections, and.. kinda feels like, whether there are or aren't, the damage has been done. Not even in the "fair election" angle. Current leadership has surely disillusioned so many that it just doesn't matter. We have now the clearest demonstration that any elected member will be just as likely to fold before putting up any fight for democracy.. where's the motivation to vote for whom represents you when their first priority is representing their own interests?

And, predictably, he shows no real regret or remorse...

Always did enjoy Titus. Glad to see he's still keeping it real.

As has been said before, and MD has so gleefully demonstrated, "cruelty is the point."

Nah, I'm 100% on board with believing they're intentionally tanking the market so all the stock bros can buy cheap to inflate their worth when shit settles down (i.e. when everyone realizes how bad Rs are for economy [again] and expect Dems to fix everything [again]). Just a question/matter of how easy it will be to undo what has been done, and the nature of the deeper consequences..

But, that's the thing. What motivation does the public have to rally if their elected leaders can't demonstrate any capability? And, more importantly, what motivation do the voters have to keep electing them if they can't at least try to act like they're trying? Whether or not anything gets done is almost irrelevant. They really, really need to show their base that they're not just the "bend over and take it" party. Because right now, the message they're sending is "why bother voting for anybody?"
