Is it ever OK to beg someone to be your friend?
Hornshire replied to Drunkenwarrior's topic in Free-For-All
It is always okay to attempt to make amends. But in your seeking of forgiveness, just be sincere, and not pathetic. -
Also, Napoleon was much shorter than average people of his time. #TrueFactsfromHistory

Nah. When you want to go to actual space, then We'll get on board. If you just want to play pretend, We're sure We can find a cardboard box that doesn't cost $500+
-
You know, you may actually be right. If a statistically remote event occurred, people may actually find some respect for you. But let's face it, the odds of you ever drumming up enough resolve to confront someone face to face are, for all practical purposes, nil.

Pretty sure all the people with moneys disapprove of "weeb shit."
-
Six months worth, give or take. Key word being worth.
-
The fuck is this Tina shit??? Don't compromise on your principles just because it's a third the cost. You can't put a price tag on integrity.
-
The trick to not disappointing is having no expectations to meet.
-
Price is not simply a function of material and labor cost, but rather a description of what people are willing to pay. If there are uncoerced buyers, there is no ethical concern. Long term, though, you ought to be scouting for better investments.

It seems like everything that makes life better also kills you

Yes. Death makes life better. -
Would you rather make the cut or have first pick?
-
So really, you asked a hooker outside a Motel 6 to pretend she was 17 and she rolled her eyes, asked to see the money, and then left your broke ass standing there.
-
Yikes. Get better friends, dude.
-
So... what, you just ignore cats entirely the rest of the year?

A lady would have to be crazy to take a position like that. We'll ask around next time We're in group. -
For the most part, We stick with the out of 10, but will go an extra decimal point, so that's basically the same. Reducing messes with framing for Us. We feel like 3 out of 5 is kinda good but 6 out of 10 is kinda not so good. We know it's the same value, but We always perceive it differently, so actually We tend to avoid rating things at that if We can. Occasionally, We'll rate things on non-numeric scales... like "on a scale of puddle to ocean, that was a pond" But Our favorite scale is Starwars. Even though it's practicality is only a 3/8 (dropping to a 1/8 if someone disagrees on which one is better, or even down to a 2/8 if they don't even know the movies)

We mostly agree with all of this. Particularly point 3. The First Order existing in the first place is hard enough to buy. That they're on par with the Republic... fine. Have your shitty backdrop for a shitty story. Whatever, those are 7's issues. But to suggest that they can blow up five planets and no one bats an eye is absurd. That after that threat is removed when Death Star III is destroyed, there is not an immediate outpouring of support for the group responsible? Beyond inconceivable. We don't really care that Snoke isn't validated, because We never expected him to be, and the fuel issue, while it does pose some plot related questions, isn't a deal breaker. On the lightspeed kamikaze... We really liked that moment. A large part of that is actually due to a particular audience member letting out an "ohhhh shit" during the otherwise five seconds of silence. Holdo's character, in general though, was pretty worthless. Literally, the most interesting thing about her was figuring out that We knew the actor that played her from Jurassic Park. Other points of contention We had with the movie: - A lot of the dialogue in the beginning was super hammy. Like prequel levels of bad. - Leia's only on-screen force usage comes off as a space witch casting a miracle. - Caretakers not being introduced until they could be suddenly used for more ill conceived humor. All in all, very unimpressed. Not the worst Star Wars movie ever made, but definitely the worst one not directed by Lucas. A second watching may change Our opinions on certain issues, but We'll wait till it hits the dollar theatre to confirm.

Back in the day there was IB people, Babblers and Hoes
Hornshire replied to JeNewBee's topic in Free-For-All
We remember waaay back, Chubby was fond of referring to us as Ibites. As like a derivation of Canaanite or the like. We thought it an odd analogy because that would relegate him to being a Philistine. -

This seems like some sort of trick...

We liked to think that We had a somewhat nomadic board habit. But in truth, while We may have lurked in diverse folders, Our post history suggested Our presence, such as it was, was purely IB. -
