More of a WTF story but this happened not too long ago. Slow day at work, only a few customers in at the time. This guy comes in, by himself, and just walks by the register and starts helping himself to food. He orders some burgers and fries from the grill and walks over to the seafood hot bar and grabs a single shrimp, eats it and flicks the tail behind the line. A waiter checks on him and refill his drink, sees he doesn't have one and tells management he doesn't have a drink nor ticket. Instead of kicking him out, he is told to pay and he begrudgingly complies. Then he starts acting really weird and is disturbing the customers and waiters so we call security in. (I missed this particular part of the incident.) First guard says the guy is on something, so then the K9 unit is called in. Now the first guard, K9 officer, and this weird dude are trying to talk it out. Evidently this was the perfect opportunity for our hero to pull out some little cards from his wallet, claim that he is with ISIS and is currently recruiting. He was promptly thrown out.

Working. We have a special, 2 for 1 deal, so two customers can eat for the price of one customer. Last week we ran the same special and broke the company sales record, but this week it's Valentine's Day so we'll either be slow or we're gonna break the record again. If previous numbers are any indication, my crew and I will be serving 1,100 patrons over the course of 6 hours.

Word. True dat. I still partially live in a suitcase because my brain is so sure whatever I have going now for housing could be gone in the blink of an eye. Not sure if this helps, but there are online doctors you can see that will do quick webcam appointments, write prescriptions, then fax them to a local pharmacy of your choice. Lasagna, cannelloni, soup/chowder (tbh I have only done this to act as a slurry), and fish or chicken pie. It's not something I use much, but I'm sure there are more skilled chefs than I that know more uses.

I had a habit of doing this for awhile depending on where I went. Reason being was I kept getting wilted or flavorless vegetables. That being said I'm a chef so if I want a burger I'll just make my own most of the time.

I always wondered what the term for this was. Closet thing is "multiple discovery" and it's basically referring to the phenomenon that a lot of things are "discovered," "invented" or developed at the same time by multiple people. Same can be said of all the "copy cat" movies and novels we see that have the same core but are not carbon copies of one another and existed independently without knowledge of the existence of similar work. But like you said, it's more than that. It's the same reason a restaurant might see a lot of people order the same dish, one that isn't popular, on the same day without any of the guests knowing anyone else ordered it. Kinda like the idea to get the food or stop watching the show is a living entity, floating in the aether from person to person. Real tinfoil hat territory.

My desktop is broken so I got a new laptop, but no desk. So I have the laptop sitting on an empty box, which is on top of a plastic lawn chair. I connected my mouse and keyboard to said laptop and placed them on top of the busted desktop tower, using an old TCG tournament mat as a mousepad.
