My family in Claxton got hit super hard, trees down everywhere and my cousin is still without power. There’s little gasoline, my cousin’s husband has to scramble everyday to keep the generator running. The worst part is it was my second cousin’s 13th birthday and it’s been such a slog. I drove back from South Carolina on the Wednesday before and never even thought it would be this bad. The Worthing Saga by Orson Scott Card. I realize he’s a very problematic person now, but I was reading everything he wrote that I could get my hands on when I was an early teen. This one always stands out as one of my favorites, and I go back to it every few years. It’s a paperback that’s so worn the front and back cover have long torn away, and the pages look as if they’re papyrus.
