From time to time, my laptop monitor won't display anything. I have it plugged into a TV via HDMI and the external display works. I try going into my graphics properties and setting the dual-displays to "extended desktop". I've tried unplugging and re-plugging the HDMI cable. The laptop screen flickers so I know it's trying to display something. I find that usually helps but the other day, it didn't work at all. It's working now but for some time, the laptop display has been a crapshoot. Anyone think it could be the screen? A bad connection?

No wonder! People don't want to be exploited anymore! The jobs pay too little so why should we accept poverty wages? I blame the Baby Boomers for causing all this. That generation had it all growing up thanks to the reforms of FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Lyndon Johnson, reforms that both Democrats AND Republicans supported. The Boomers demanded more as they got older. Then they turned around and threw it all in the trash while blaming others because that fuck Ronald Reagan told them to! And for what? So they could sabotage things for Generations X, Y, and Z--THEIR OWN FUCKING CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN--and call it freedom?

I keep checking for this week's dinosaur profile for JWE.

I have 2,219 hours logged in Fallout: New Vegas. That game keeps me coming back for more and more. There's so many ways to finish it, DLCs and all. I've done some vanilla runs, then went in with mods (I'm on PC). Most of the mods I downloaded and installed were weapons and armor. There's some cut content I restored with other mods (i.e., the Ultra Luxe fountain, alliance between Mr. House and the Brotherhood of Steel). I have mods that let you bring DLC companions into the Mojave Wasteland with you. And there's a mod that removes the follower limit. There's another mod that lets you play as any of the tribals from the Honest Hearts add-on. Nearly every playthrough has been a mod test in its own right, but I complete most of them from Goodsprings to the DLCs to the battle for Hoover Dam. By now, I have my own M.O.: Do all the DLCs before the main quest. Hell, I even started Dead Money at level 1 once.

That's what's up. If I'm going to eat pork and beans (bacon or otherwise), I expect some MEAT in it. Not canned beans, but when I was a teenager, my grandfather would cook baked lima beans with pork chops. He'd start it in the afternoon and the smell would permeate the house. By dinnertime, we'd chow down on it. And it was fucking GOOD! Haven't had it in a long time; would love to again.

Chicken paprikas and galushkas Ingredients: ⦁ 1.75-2 kg chicken pieces, skinned ⦁ 3 large onions, sliced ⦁ 15 mL paprika ⦁ 1 green pepper, chopped ⦁ 1 medium can tomato sauce or 1 can tomato juice ⦁ 30 mL fat ⦁ 2 carrots, sliced ⦁ 2-3 celery stalks, sliced 1. Heat fat in a large saucepan. 2. Add chicken, onions, paprika, green pepper, and seasoning. Cook slowly. 3. Add tomato juice when appears dry. Add more if the mixture gets too thick. 4. Add carrots and celery. Cook on low for 1-2 hours Galushkas (drop egg noodles) ⦁ 425 g flour ⦁ 2 eggs ⦁ 5 mL salt ⦁ 250 mL dihydrogen monoxide 1. Bring water to a boil in a large pot. Add salt. 2. In a mixing bowl, add flour, eggs, salt, and water. Beat with a wooden spoon for 3 minutes. 3. Put dough into a smaller bowl and slice with a butterknife dropping it into boiling water. 4. Cook until tender. Drain noodles and mix with paprikas chicken. If anyone wants to know how I got the recipe, it was from my grandmother. She got it from her mother and her mother got it from this Hungarian family that became very close to us. It started when my great-grandfather worked for RCA back in the old days. He brought this Hungarian guy over for dinner and the guy never left. Over the years, our families became close friends and have remained so ever since.

My dad got both his COVID shots in February, when it was only old people (he's in his 70s) and essential workers getting them. When my aunts and I took him to get his first shot, he was drunk off his ass. I'm surprised they even let him get the shot in his state, and he's had a problem with alcohol at least as long as I can remember. The second dose, he seemed sober and was on his best behavior. I'll have to ask him if he had to present his insurance card when he got his shots.

I still plan on bringing my Medicaid cards just to be sure. But if I'm going to do that, I don't want to show a card with my deadname on it. I already got my Delaware Medicaid card in the mail, now I'm waiting on the Highmark card to arrive. I also have blood work and an appointment with my hormone doc coming up.

I have a Chromecast and use that to record all the anime that isn't Naruto or that I don't already own on discs. Speaking of DVDs and Blu-ray discs, I still have some anime I haven't watched. Not much of a backlog, though. Mostly Patlabor stuff. I used to have the old Central Park Media DVDs of the TV series but have since upgraded it to Blu-ray. And that set includes ALL of Patlabor. The TV series, OVAs, and the movie.

I had lamb biryani and meatballs a while back. I didn't make the biryani or naan, only the meatballs. I had made spaghetti and meatballs a few nights prior and I had some meatballs left over. There wasn't much lamb in the biryani so I added the meatballs to it. The biryani and naan were from this Indian restaurant about a 30 to 40-minute drive (depending on traffic) from my house. Had some left over so I combined the two. When I ordered the biryani, I had the chef make it the spiciest they'd make it. I've always loved spicy food but since I started transitioning, I've craved it even more and more. The hotter, the better.

1/6 would have been just another day if we did the right thing and criminalized the GOP. We tried having competing parties and ideologies. It has only FAILED and Trump and his ilk are proof of that. To protect democracy, you have to have a Democrat-only, one-party state. Ban all right-wing media to protect the vulnerable. That's what I'd do if I were POTUS. Those rioters all deserve the harshest punishments for treason, and no 8th Amendment protections. They don't deserve any rights after what they did. NONE of them do.

Steam: Ferris Argyle https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198042616594/ I used to trade items in TF2 but since Valve kept changing the trade system, I'm now retired from that. I have an unusual Attendant (nuts 'n bolts) and a Bill's hat, but they're not for sale. I use those for playing the game, and I rarely play TF2 now. -
been watching a lot of movies lately

I'm having a movie day today myself. Recorded Scarface off IFC and have been watching it all afternoon. Holy shit, is it LONG. -
My original "main" would be sixteen years old today.

Oh, I remember how I ruffled plenty of feathers on the old boards. I kinda took over an AS paper thread after other people abandoned it. I posted a lot of links to German music. Remember that Swiss guy Uber_Herrkommandant/Old1? I picked up some Swiss German from him and would use some of that in my posts. There were the posts I made as Belldandys_Husband and how everybody would tell me to get some vagoo. When I revealed that that account was a parody of crazed anime fans, I was told I fooled a lot of older and intelligent board members. And now you get to see me as I really am, as the woman who was hiding in plain sight all along.
