It's a testosterone-blocker. For us trans gals who haven't had bottom surgery yet, it's not enough to take estradiol alone. You have to take a testosterone-blocker with it. In the U.S., the blocker of choice is spironolactone, or as I like to call it, Spyro the Dragon. It's also a potassium-sparing diuretic that flushes out your sodium. So trans girls on spiro end up craving salty foods to replace that sodium. Many of us crave pickles because they're cheap, salty, and healthy for you (they're cucumbers and cucumbers are fruits, after all). As for me, I've never liked pickles. I satisfy the spiro cravings with other salty foods such as popcorn, French fries, fried chicken, beef jerky, kettle chips, and yes, bacon.

I totally want some bacon and baked beans right now. Too bad I don't have any bacon on hand, though. Closest I have is SPAM. Either way, it'll satisfy the salt cravings from spironolactone and fill me up.

My original endocrinologist referred me to this doc I've been seeing (the former moved out of state to be with her husband; they lived apart for six years). She's a GP who's well-versed in trans healthcare. I started seeing her in November and she's come through very well since then. For the past couple months, though, I've kinda had a girl crush on her. I always thought she was very cute and hot, and I also get some gay or bi vibes from her (i.e., femme girl with short, unpolished nails). I can't get her out of my head. Been thinking of making a move but being discreet about it. At the very least, I might ask her if she listens to girl in red. It's code for asking a girl if she likes girls. If she says "yes", she's gay. If she responds with "sweated weather", she's bi. I didn't come up with it. While I've dated girls before, they were mainly in high school and that was back when I was still in boymode. There was one girl sometime in 2013, but nothing happened between her and I. Now that I'm in girlmode, I'm thinking of getting myself back out there. Going from those girls to a high-earning woman such as a doctor or lawyer is like going from McDonald's to one of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants. Hell, if this doc paid me enough money to marry her, I'd happily do it, ethics issues be damned. If it means I'd be set for life, why not? Has anyone else here been in this kind of situation before?

I can't believe I ate the whole thing.

Last December, I went to my grandparents' house for my grandfather's birthday. We had Chinese food. I ate two whole plates of General Tso's chicken, fried rice, and an egg roll. I was that hungry that night. -
Before Reagan, things were economically great. CEOs took home only 30% more than workers. We had new social programs, schools, and infrastructure. Workers had good jobs with unions, benefits, and pensions. Wages were in sync with the cost of living. One could afford a year's worth of college tuition working a summer job. After about a year of working a 9-5, one could afford a house. America's middle class was created. After Reagan fucked everything up, CEOs now take home 300-400% more than workers. Reagan gutted our social programs, let our infrastructure crumble, kneecapped unions, and replaced Social Security and pensions with 401(k)s. Wages stagnated while the cost of living rose. College tuition rose such that so many people now have crippling student debt, punishing them for getting an education. Reagan replaced the middle class with working poor. And for what? Why did the Boomers have to vote for HIM of all people? What happened?

Yall mow your lawn in straight lines or by cricling?

I've mowed circularly. What the hell is the point of mowing, anyway? Or even having a lawn? Just have a natural meadow instead, with native plants! -

I grew up on sweet potatoes and love them to pieces. They're a good source of vitamin A.

I live in Delaware and we have something very similar: Scrapple. Instead of merely the liver, jowls, and rind, scrapple is made with the whole pig minus the oink. It's great with eggs and/or rice. I went to my aunt's house in northeastern Maryland in 2019. She has free-range chickens. My uncle, cousins, and I fed the chickens mealyworms. I had a small handful of those before feeding the rest to the chickens. They were GOOD. Better than you'd think. More people should eat bugs. If you've ever eaten crabs, lobster, shrimp, or crawdads, then you've eaten bugs. They're all arthropods. Bugs taste good and are good for you. They require way less land and food to raise than conventional livestock. And because they're so genetically distinct from us, their diseases can't affect us. Hell, ever since I was a kid, I've wanted to try fried termites, cockroaches, beetles, and cicadas.

He enacted the Great Society programs such as Medicare and Medicaid. He also did what JFK couldn't do: Sign the Civil Rights Act into law. What funded these new programs and others? High taxes on the rich. Reagan fucked it all up with his tax cuts and trickle-down scam.

From time to time, my laptop monitor won't display anything. I have it plugged into a TV via HDMI and the external display works. I try going into my graphics properties and setting the dual-displays to "extended desktop". I've tried unplugging and re-plugging the HDMI cable. The laptop screen flickers so I know it's trying to display something. I find that usually helps but the other day, it didn't work at all. It's working now but for some time, the laptop display has been a crapshoot. Anyone think it could be the screen? A bad connection?

No wonder! People don't want to be exploited anymore! The jobs pay too little so why should we accept poverty wages? I blame the Baby Boomers for causing all this. That generation had it all growing up thanks to the reforms of FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Lyndon Johnson, reforms that both Democrats AND Republicans supported. The Boomers demanded more as they got older. Then they turned around and threw it all in the trash while blaming others because that fuck Ronald Reagan told them to! And for what? So they could sabotage things for Generations X, Y, and Z--THEIR OWN FUCKING CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN--and call it freedom?

I have 2,219 hours logged in Fallout: New Vegas. That game keeps me coming back for more and more. There's so many ways to finish it, DLCs and all. I've done some vanilla runs, then went in with mods (I'm on PC). Most of the mods I downloaded and installed were weapons and armor. There's some cut content I restored with other mods (i.e., the Ultra Luxe fountain, alliance between Mr. House and the Brotherhood of Steel). I have mods that let you bring DLC companions into the Mojave Wasteland with you. And there's a mod that removes the follower limit. There's another mod that lets you play as any of the tribals from the Honest Hearts add-on. Nearly every playthrough has been a mod test in its own right, but I complete most of them from Goodsprings to the DLCs to the battle for Hoover Dam. By now, I have my own M.O.: Do all the DLCs before the main quest. Hell, I even started Dead Money at level 1 once.

That's what's up. If I'm going to eat pork and beans (bacon or otherwise), I expect some MEAT in it. Not canned beans, but when I was a teenager, my grandfather would cook baked lima beans with pork chops. He'd start it in the afternoon and the smell would permeate the house. By dinnertime, we'd chow down on it. And it was fucking GOOD! Haven't had it in a long time; would love to again.
