It comes in handy for us because we can hear the tornado sirens from counties closer to Atlanta that have more money. Our county got rid of the sirens for one year because they thought we rarely see tornadoes actually touch down so why bother. Then there were a bunch of tornadoes that year, including some that landed in our county, and the other counties' sirens were the only warnings our people had to take cover. County officials got hammered with complaints, so our sirens are running again.
