Does anyone here still wear masks, social distance, or get covid booster vaccinations?

Masks? No. I do intend to use them whenever I'm sick, though.

Social distance? Nah. I've always kept out of people's personal space, but don't think I stay 6 feet away.

Boosters? I've kept up on those. I think they're only available to elderly/at-risk starting this season, though, so I guess I'm done with them.

I got a booster from my doctor's office, but she had to write up something for insurance to cover it due to my existing conditions (nothing more sinister than being slightly fat and on blood pressure meds). I don't think the mask/distancing thing is relevant at this point unless you're actively diagnosed with the 'vid or flu or experiencing obvious symptoms of such.

I still get the boosters.  In New York they just give them to you depending on where you are.

When I'm sick, I wear a mask.  I'm an introvert so social distancing comes natural.  I haven't gotten the booster since 2023, I've just been lazy.  I got Covid for the first time last year and it wasn't too bad, I had a much worse time with the flu in 2020 so I need to get a flu shot.

I considered wearing a mask before covid when I got sick because Japanese people always did that. Covid has normalized mask wearing everywhere, so I wear a mask whenever I get sick. I only got the booster once. As for distancing, I still give people more space in line than I did precovid.

I’m behind on boosters and only wear masks if I’m going to the doctor or pharmacy. Places sick people like to be.  If I’m on a bus I don’t wear one but I do on the subway during the peak of flu and covid season because I’m behind on said vaccines

Except when I'm in a packed theater. If someone next to me is coughing, I'm down for two weeks.

I wear a mask around people if I'm sick/in the 'spreading it around' stage while in crowds. I pack a mask if I'm flying anywhere just in case.

I avoid crowds whenever possible because too many people in an area make my brain feel stuffed.

I was not able to get the booster for the latest strain because I may have already adjusted to the inert portions of the vaccine causing weird mutations. The last time I got covid, I had super smell for about 5 days before everything went to crap. I could smell everything and humans are disgusting creatures.

If it isn't too personal can you clarify this? I don't understand but it sounds scary.

No, I continue to lick peoples faces when they piss me off and won't leave me alone. 

 

Also, I've never gotten covid. I had to get the 2 vaccines if I wanted a job. 

Only got them 3 years ago.

Masks, yes - when I've felt sick so I don't give it to my coworkers.

Boosters, yes - I'm in the "recommended age group" & I'm getting a flu shot anyway.  This year, they came to where I work, so it was easy.

Distancing - it's funny (I don't do it) but at one of my previous jobs my boss would announce when I was sick to the team at the morning meeting, "so employ the 10ft. rule from him".

Edit: further clarification - I rarely got sick, so if I caught something, it had to be particularly nasty & strong.

Literally everyone I know personally who has gotten covid has said exactly this, every single one. Granted I mostly know younger/non-elderly people, I know it's different if you're old.

I still don't think I've had it, as far as I know.

My system adjusts rapidly to most things. Pain meds no longer work for me. It makes surgeries especially bad because if I start coming out of anesthesia, they will not be able to get me back under. The last time, they needed about a large horse's worth to keep me out and I was already coming out of it before I was back in the recovery room. Vaccines may also break down in odd ways. But that's a me thing and I still encourage people to get them because they do still work for 99.9% of the world. First shot almost collapsed a lung. Second shot was aches and fevers. The last booster didn't seem to do much 'boostering' at all, the arm hole basically leaked saline the following day while the arthritis bitched about the shot in general.

Jesus Christ, sounds horrifying. 

I've heard lots of people say they got very sick from the vax and had horrible debilitating arm pain but nothing medically serious beyond that.
