I'm talking about their fathers who worked in the steel mills that got shut down by Japanese steel companies like Nippon Steel. Much of the sentiment against China right now mirrors the US-Japan rivalry in the 1980s. Trump wanted Japan to be tariffed to hell back then.

And lol, mentioning Pearl Harbor like this is in exceptionally poor taste.

Okay? You still haven't explained the point of punishing current workers for their fathers' actions. Your explanation makes it feel like even more of a non-sequitur than it did before.

Is it? I think it's equally as ridiculous to hold a grudge over generations in both cases.

I think he's being sarcastic.  If I recall, he was one of the biggest proponents for the deal here on the boards, so it's unlikely he's suddenly opposed to it.

I was before Trump got re-elected. Knowing the history of the rust belt, the current attitude toward globalism by many MAGA type blue collar workers, and Nippon Steel saving their jobs . . . it just leaves a poor taste in my mouth. As I said, I trust that Nippon Steel has a suitable long term plan. The deal is being made regardless of what I think, and it makes Trump look good. Whatever, really.

Most certainly.  The racism of the previous generation hasn't gone away, and its evident in how Pennsylvania's blue collar workers voted in the last election.

It's like a comedy sketch.

When do we find out Who is in charge of foreign visas?

He is clearly sundowning like dear old Dad Fred Trump.

Throw another lawsuit on the pile.

The White House is sued over lack of sign language interpreters at press briefings

Normally I'd be totally sympathetic about this, but I can't help but thinking... why? Why would you really even want this, cuz I can pretty easily sum up all of what it is that they're missing...

Every time they showed him on television he was stoned off his ass. Pissing himself most likely as he complained about “bladder problems” from all the drugs.

Where I live there’s like 4 or 5 people with those hideous vehicles. 3 are that ugly space age gray 1 is black and the last one is pink. Probably the new version of the Mary Kay pink Cadillac

I can just about guarantee each one purchased their vehicle to “own the libs” and when I see them stuck in the snow in winter while my dumb rav4 zips along unbothered I’ll try to remember to feel nice and owned 🫠

EXCLUSIVEInsane moment Elon Musk 'SHOVED' Trump's treasury secretary Scott Bessent during screaming match

Quote

Elon Musk's swift departure from his signature Department of Government Efficiency and the White House was escalated by an outburst that turned violent, according to a high-profile insider.

Former Chief Strategist Steve Bannon told DailyMail.com that Musk's turbulent time in the White House was marred when he physically 'shoved' 62-year-old Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent after he was confronted over wild promises to save the administration 'a trillion dollars'.

'Scott Bessent called him out and said, 'You promised us a trillion dollars (in cuts), and now you're at like $100 billion, and nobody can find anything, what are you doing?'' the prominent MAGA figure revealed.

'And that's when Elon got physical. It's a sore subject with him.

'It wasn't an argument, it was a physical confrontation. Elon basically shoved him.'

Bannon said the physical altercation came as the two billionaires moved from the Oval Office to outside Chief of Staff Susie Wiles' office, and then outside the office of the then National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz.

'Trump 100%' sided with Bessent after the clash, he added. 'I don't think Bessent has any bad blood, but he's got a job to do and he's going to do it'.

The revelation of a confrontation between the pair was confirmed by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Friday.

use chief strategist Steve Bannon, Musk physically 'shoved' Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in the West Wing when confronted with promises to slash trillions in government spending

The alleged altercation came as Bessent questioned Musk's DOGE cuts, which he said was a 'sore subject' with the Tesla CEO

'It's no secret President Trump has put together a team of people who are incredibly passionate about the issues impacting our country', she said in a statement to DailyMail.com.

'Disagreements are a normal part of any healthy policy process, and ultimately everyone knows they serve at the pleasure of President Trump.'

Now we now how Musk got that eye jammy and it wasn’t from his kid

To be honest, I feel like he's so pissed up that he hit himself at some point thinking ninja insects were trying to invade his skin portals.

He probably needs to sleep with Nerf gloves on.

“Hegseth deliberately ignored the call for peace and development by countries in the region, and instead touted the cold war mentality for bloc confrontation, vilified China with defamatory allegations, and falsely called China a ‘threat’,” it said.  - China’s ministry of foreign affairs

“The remarks were filled with provocations and intended to sow division. China deplores and firmly opposes them and has protested strongly to the US.”

"After a thorough review of prior associations, I am hereby withdrawing the nomination of Jared Isaacman to head NASA," Trump wrote on his social media site. "I will soon announce a new Nominee who will be Mission aligned, and put America First in Space."

depends on how you read into it, I'll say yes just for the plot twist

This whole Musk thing is weird. He had to leave his position regardless because of how he wasn’t approved by Congress.  he was labeled a consultant or some shit. His time was almost up. He could only stay 130 consecutive days. Had he really done his job they woulda found a loophole to get him to stay but they’re embarrassing him on the way out. He must’ve really sucked. Sadly his crew of incel ogres are staying from what I read last.  Hopefully that will change because they haven’t saved us anything close to promised and all the cuts have killed the country’s reputation.
