The sign in thing appears to be a feature on a few BlueSky posts to prevent bad actors (or government stooges) from accessing content that can be used against the poster.

I think the goal is to make it so that, unlike on X, people can't look at your stuff anonymously.  I haven't fidgeted with the settings because I haven't posted anything myself.
