Mode 7 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Anyone here ever watch Exosquad? I rewatched this 12 years ago it still holds up. Too bad the Genesis game was trash 😔 1 Quote

ghostrek Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I'm watching The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and that was pretty edgy stuff for 1960s almost like it was a Proto Adult Swim cartoon Quote
ghostrek Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Also it's kind of weird that I thought Daffy Duck and Donald Duck were related when I was a kid? Quote

mthor Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Ye gods, how could I forget Thundarr the Barbarian and The Smurfs? I watched them religiously every Saturday morning during nursing school. 1 Quote

Mode 7 Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I feel like I should be ashamed of myself for not having watched a single episode of Archie's Weird Mysteries. Especially since I grew up reading a ton of Archie comics. In fact I've read more Archie than anything else growing up and that includes Calvin and Hobbes. But for some reason I've just had no interest to sit down and check out Archie's Weird Mysteries because it seems like something I would be intersted in but for some reason I've just been ignoring it and it's available free to watch on Tubi so I've got no excuse. And I've been watching more and more cartoons recently so I guess it's time to check this show out. 1 Quote

ghostrek Posted April 17 Posted April 17 (edited) I've been watching "Hey Arnold!" and was surprised to learn that many adults now didn't know Helga's mom was a drunk when they were kids. Edited April 17 by ghostrek 1 1 Quote
Mode 7 Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Cartoons I want to see end up MeTv Toons Snorks Jabberjaw Hong Kong Phooey Swat Kats A MeTv Toons version of Cartoon Roulette where it's just a block of Hanna-Barbera Superhero cartoons 1 Quote
rpgamer Posted April 17 Posted April 17 The only Archie Comics I ever read was the Sonic comics.. Now there's some untapped potential that neither the games nor the cartoons ever fully tapped into. Maybe someday we'll get a proper adaptation... (but probably not because lawsuits.. of course). 1 Quote
Mode 7 Posted May 26 Posted May 26 I would like to see a block on MeTV Toons dedicated to nothing but black and white cartoons. 2 Quote
Mode 7 Posted May 26 Posted May 26 (edited) I just thought of something else I wouldn't mind seeing on MeTV Toons, since they're already airing those puppets shows on a block why not dedicate a block to claymation? Would people object seeing Gumby, Wallace and Gromit or Bump in the Night? Edited May 26 by Mode 7 2 Quote
Mode 7 Posted yesterday at 05:18 PM Posted yesterday at 05:18 PM After watching the House of Hanna-Barbera on MeTV Toons I've come the realzation that I'm just not a fan of the HB cartoon shorts. They just don't do it for me. Also this block is missing Quick Draw McGraw and Augie Doggy and Doggie Daddy and this show is on for two hours. I'd rather have two hours of Popeye or Tom and Jerry or better yet how about an hour of the Smurfs since for whatever reason a show that has nine seasons only airs once a week for a half hour Quote
scoobdog Posted yesterday at 05:38 PM Author Posted yesterday at 05:38 PM You know, I didn't even realize MeTV is an OTA broadcaster. I"m going to start looking into it. Been watching the old WB toons on Boomerang, and I can't wrap my head around the fact that Mel Blanc did that many voices for that long. Quote
[classic swim] Posted yesterday at 06:01 PM Posted yesterday at 06:01 PM I could never bring myself to watch The Jetsons Movie. I find 80s Jetsons very repulsive, the annoying little alien creature I’m guessing was there to promote a toy no one remembers. They gave Cogswell weird eyes so he wouldn’t look like Mr. Slate anymore. The charm was just gone. 1 Quote

[classic swim] Posted yesterday at 08:04 PM Posted yesterday at 08:04 PM 22 minutes ago, André Toulon said: I liked flinstones but hated jetsons...i never analyzed why There’s little to no chemistry compared to The Flintstones. Fred would scream at Barney or Wilma and the show would be so fucking funny before Pebbles & Bam-Bam & Gazoo & that weird pet kangaroo thing Barney purchased near the end of the show. Mr. Spacely the boss was funnier than George Jetson the main character. Fred was an angry psychopath in the early episodes and George was a spineless pushover. The original Jetsons even lasted one season for sucking. 1 Quote
Mode 7 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Someone on YouTube uploaded a few episodes of Late Night Black and White an old block that used to air on Cartoon Network overnight so I've been enjoying that the last few nights. There's just something relaxing about watching black and white cartoons late at night which is why I'm keeping my fingers crossed that MeTv Toons will do something similar. 3 Quote
[classic swim] Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I’m pretty sure before both Adult Swim and Family Guy that Cartoon Network would air Wait Till Your Father Gets Home (All in The Family HB knockoff) during the late hours and it’s strange to think about that timeline now. I’m glad at least some of my tapes I got on my laptop, even when I need a hard drive or disc. Looking back, I’d consider 2006 the best [as] year ever except they stopped being as vocal like years before and mainly pumped the Fix in bumps all the time. Later it was Super Deluxe they amped constantly. 1 Quote
