Jman
Whether this hems closer to One Piece or Cowboy Bebop, it's hard to say. I'm admittedly worried about pacing.

DragonSinger
I cannot get into this at all. It's probably because I watched some of the anime recently, but the trailer is ruined for me. Everything looks like a downgrade in the live-action trailer. I can be persuaded if I see a weird ass Baby Koenma later.

Toonamiguy321
I think One Piece is going to exist as the exception, not the norm in regards to live action anime adaptions.

I just realized it used to be the norm in shonen that the characters look much older than they are supposed to be. Modern shonen characters (Deku, Tanjiro) look much more like kids. EmpressAngel
The first time I saw Jotaro I deadass thought he was 35 and called "Oh that's bullshit!" out loud when they said he was a 17-year old high school student.
saito34
One Piece bought these LA remakes some wiggle room, but this looks like a step down in terms of production quality from Bebop. I wonder if these do better in Japan in general though. They went full steam ahead with FMA and Bleach and they both kind of dodged any serious scrutiny in the states. Jman
It's out, and it's currently #3 on US Netflix behind The Crown and My Life with the Walter Boys, which seems similar to Alice in Borderland's trajectory. Anyway, the show rushes through the manga at warp speed, but is otherwise considered pretty good? The fight scenes are getting a lot of praise, and there's no "Welcome to the Ouch!" style San Francisco bullshit.
Sketch
Great fight choreography in the first two episodes and the story is remixed to decent effect so far. It’s not One Piece but a it’s also not Netbop or FMA Live Action.
Jman
Looks like it’s a hit. https://www.netflix.com/tudum/top10/tv-non-english Despite the truncated story, there’s enough momentum here for a Season 2 with the Dark Tournament or Sensui. Eat it Bebop.

PokeNirvash
The YYH live-action is Japanese in origin so I don't think it ever had the problem of "advanced cringe" dialogue on its hands that Cowoy Bobeps did.
Jman
https://about.netflix.com/en/news/yu-yu-hakusho-biggest-global-debut-japanese-series Yu Yu is a bonafide hit and Netflix probably has the green light to adapt all the manga. Here I was thinking it was because he was a huge fan of the anime and took the changes harder than others might have. Which I think...is a perfectly valid criticism. The show does try to squeeze way too much into too little time. But I think if you're unaware of that context the show works. I think the show is a solid B myself thanks to the acting and fights, but B- is also fair. It's not the F that Bebop was.

I'm not a fan of caustic critics, that's all, especially when I even sorta like the stuff they dunk on. Neurodivergent impulse, go figure. (I know, terrible argument to make concerning a J-drama I haven't seen an episode of that he's approaching in a different manner from something like Fruit of Evolution.)
